Fall 2020 Transfers

Hello everyone,

I know it’s still extremely early in the transferring process, but I was wondering why certain schools applications are not yet available on the Common app? but anyhow, feel free to post your stats and what schools you plan on applying to.

I actually came to ask the same question. Princeton’s transfer application doesn’t seem to be available yet. Chances are slim, but I guess it’s better than not applying at all… I’m a community college student in California.

Yes! I thought It was something wrong with my Common app account. I called the office of admissions a month ago and one officer said it was still early and that they release the application a little later. I was worried because according to most transfer forums on Reddit and here, most people were already working on their applications around this time.

@nerdmd Have they released the app yet? I can’t log in to the transfer applicant portal for whatever reason, urgh!

Hey guys,

I’m a community college student from California. I had a terrible high school GPA because I straight up did not care about school as I went through a lot emotional, personal/family problems, but I really got my act together and currently have a 4.0 college GPA. I think it’s worth a shot. I’m interested in the Woodrow Wilson School of International and Public affairs, but I don’t really now what it is. Anyone care to explain?

The applications are now available!

@nerdmd Thank you so much! Can’t wait to take a look myself. I don’t know if I’m the only one having this issue, but the site is acting up and wouldn’t let me enter my log-in credentials… I’ve contacted the help center, but no response yet!

How important are subject tests for transfers. PS. I have terrible scores

Looking forward to the cycle.

Has everyone taken the required SAT testing already or has the coronavirus messed up anyone else’s plans now that Collegeboard has permanently cancelled both the March SAT, the March 28th makeup date, AND the April SAT testing date as well?

Truly don’t know what to do as I had to take the March SAT due to financial reasons.

I’ve been reflecting on this and first I want to say that I hope everybody is doing okay. I know that for a lot of us, we were kicked off college campuses rather abruptly and that a lot of people are left uncertain about many things. I hope everybody is safe and healthy and practicing good social distancing.

I think my earlier comment (although I’m still curious) was rushed because I had found out about the SAT being cancelled through a news article I happened upon rather than by the collegeboard themselves and it freaked me out a bit. So I hope everybody’s safe most importantly— did not mean to jump the metaphorical gun like that, sorry!

@dudeitsmyuser Hi, I took the SAT while I was in high school in 2005. I was supposed to take the one on 3/14/20 and due to COVID-19, I wasn’t able to. I e-mailed them and told them I was only able to submit the one from 2005, and they seemed to be understanding about it because of everything that’s going on. Ugh, my scores from 2005 are terrible, as was my high school GPA. Doesn’t look like another test will happen anytime soon  Did you contact them about it?

I wonder how many transfer applicants Princeton will accept this year.

Wait a second - I thought Princeton doesn’t accept transfers. We were explicitly told that back in 2017 when we toured the campus with my older one.

@Nascar Last year was the first year they brought back transferring.

Wow, thanks.

@NascarFedex No problem!

Does Princeton accept any transfer students from 4-year institutions (non-vet, non CC)?

Judging from past threads our chances are extremely low. I think there was only one person they accepted from a 4 year institution. Every other person was vet or from a CC. @snoopdog369

Hey everyone! This is my first ever post here, and also on CC haha, but I’ve been following this thread the past couple of months. Just wanted to say good luck and to be sure to take care of yourselves. This far along, there’s really no point in stressing over something that’s just out of our control. If we get accepted, we get accepted. If we don’t, we don’t. Things are already pretty tough with everything that’s happening, and I hope reading this post relieved anxiety as much as it did when I wrote it

Also, reading about some of the things you’ve shared about yourselves, I have no doubt we’re all going to be just fine wherever we end up next year!
