The nerves are valid, but just remind yourself you get priority admission consideration as a local, so that should help. You got this! Hoping for the best. I’m from San Diego too and desperately want to stay home… love my city!!!
Yeah I was shook haha. There is still hope though for SDSU. We’ll hope for the best. Just want to know already. * drinks lots of wine in the meantime *
Still haven’t gotten my ADT verified - anyone else also in this boat in the sdccd district? I saw that they start doing it Feb 14th but from this thread it looks like some already got the verification.
Also- got acceptance letters into Cal State LA and Cal State Long Beach, fingers crossed for SDSU though!! I don’t want to have to move out of SD to LA. So nervous
@jasonfrederick @Spiderman714
I am so sorry about Long Beach. You both have great stats, so this is hard to comprehend. Fingers crossed for you two for SDSU. If you don’t get into either, you can appeal the decision.
Is it considered local? I didn’t know that!
https://admissions.sdsu.edu/about_sdsu/local_admissions_area
According to the SDSU website… “Local” for a transfer includes Cuyamaca, Grossmont, Imperial Valley, San Diego City, San Diego Mesa, San Diego Miramar, and Southwestern.
Hey jason I hope we both get into SDSU. If you would have gotten into CSULB which one would you have chosen?
Get it verified by emailing your community college’s admissions email. Their admission’s office. That way an academic evaluator can officially put your ADT with your name on it on file and in the records for the state colleges to look it up and verify that you are in the process of obtaining it. That’s what I did. I had an evaluator at my community college officially give it to me in like January. He/she even said congratulations on your degree. I was stoked. Gonna have my first one. Then bachelors in 2 yrs.
Hey Russdiculous, I noticed that you applied to CSULB! Out of curiosity, did you get in? I know you were trying to weigh your options between CSULB and SDSU as a History major. I was recently denied from CSULB in psychology like Jasonfrederick and Spiderman714. However, I am filing an appeal to try to overturn CSULB’s decision.
Hey psych, yes I did.
Did you check the csulb thread? I think I posted a bunch on there. I’m really kicking myself, however. I wanted to go to UCSB and UC Davis. They keep emailing me telling me to go. However, I didn’t apply. Back in the fall semester I was at 37 units with max load every semester. Including this spring. I had a decent gpa like 2.8-3.1 at the time. I would’ve gotten into UCSB with UC tag.
I was heavily invested in my fall semester and was doing tons of homework for 18 units. I didn’t even realize the UC deadline and admissions were from november 1-30. So regretful because otherwise I might’ve been headed somewhere else.
Aidra Bowman, the transfer admissions counselor at UCSB wants me to go in fall 2022. I don’t want to take a gap year, however. I did talk with her about maybe going to CSULB and then transferring to UCSB in a year. She recommended me to not take more than 20 units at CSULB before transferring otherwise I would be senior status and not be able to go. Lots of decisions for me.
CSULB’s a great school. Hopefully, I see you there for one or two semesters.
Major: Business
GPA: 3.66
AST/AAT: yes, just filed my petition to receive it at the end of spring

San Diego local (North county)
Let me put it this way: There are employees at SDSU who live in the vicinity of Palomar. They know you’re local. If you went to HS in San Diego County, they will know your high school.
Thanks for responding! I just went back to the Fall 2021 CSULB Transfer thread and saw you were accepted. I must have missed it somehow. Congratulations by the way! UCSB and UC Davis are great schools. I didn’t apply to any UC schools because they were too expensive for me. Although my younger sister has her eye on UCSB once she graduates high school. I’m so sorry you missed the UC deadline being drowned in work.
I understand you not wanting to take a gap year. I wouldn’t either. Going to CSULB and then transferring is definitely an option. I didn’t know if you were senior status you cannot transfer. So many decisions. I hope you get in to SDSU just like you did for CSULB! I’m rooting for you. Both campuses are highly impacted. Because I am filing for an appeal at CSULB, I have a feeling I might have to do the same thing at SDSU if I am rejected, which will be a huge bummer. But we shall see as the decisions don’t come out until at least March.
Okay thanks, that’s good info! Unfortunately I didn’t go to HS in SD county!! Lol I went in Riverside county.
Ya I’m not sure about other schools. But at UCSB they have a policy of only taking juniors or freshman and they don’t take sophomores or seniors. In terms of total units or whatever. I think they also don’t take spring applicants only fall. I think you will get into SDSU. trust. I think that SDSU hasn’t released their acceptances yet. Can you check when sdsu released them in fall of 2020? I don’t know why no one has checked that yet on this thread.
What college do you currently go to? I keep reading that you don’t have to do anything for your ADT verification other than apply for graduation. I go to mesa
Sdsu releases decisions in March. Can really be any time in March, just has to be before April 1st. ADT verification has to be submitted by March 15th
I go to MiraCosta. For ADT I jus had to submit my graduation petition and check off the box for my ADT and major.
