When will school post their updated Common Data Sets (CDS) for the Fall 2021 cohort? As the mom of a high school senior, I am particularly interested in the “First Year Admission” data!
I think it could be a while yet as the enrollment is supposed to represent sixth week of term.
CDSs for class of 2025 for many schools won’t be available until after the holidays. Meanwhile look at school websites, social media, and student newspapers for Class of 2025 admitted and/or enrolled student profiles.
I’ve been collecting CDSs for about 80 schools. Iirc, the first ones appeared in February or March, most coming out in May-June, and a few still not released for 20-21 year.
My memory is apparently faulty.
I remember Pitt showed up earlier than any other school that I was tracking (84 of them). Wayback Machine shows the main campus CDS was available November 26 and wasn’t available October 21, the next earlier date it saved.
So some schools may indeed be available before RD applications are due. But I still think it will be a substantial minority.
(fwiw, there were 7 schools that had 19-20 CDSs available but still didn’t have 20-21 CDS available as of 8/19. Princeton, for one, still isn’t posted.)
Students/parents can always reach out to a school’s institutional reporting department. They will often give out requested information before they release the CDS, can’t hurt to ask.
