Fall Break

Hey, just wondering... does anyone actually go home for fall break from Oct 12-17? I was planning on it, I live about 4 hours away from campus by plane, but then I realized, am I going to be the only one leaving campus?
Any help appreciated, thanks.

We're a plane ride away, so the first year my son stayed at school and found it kind of lonely. Last year he came home. This year he plans to visit friends. It's very close to Parent's Visiting Day, so we'll have just seen him and it's a good time to visit friends who live close to Penn.

Yeah, I'll be planning on coming home for Fall Break!

Wait, there's no thanksgiving break? :(

Or are there both breaks?

we have both breaks.

Some people go home, other people don't. I went on a trip to Boston over fall break last year.

Ooh, that's awesome. 9 days off school in October? I would probably visit somewhere in the NE because I probably can't fly back twice within two months.

I would say most people leave campus, either for home or a random trip. And yeah, it's close to thanksgiving. and yeah, it's close to parents' weekend, but parents' weekend isn't as popular

padfoot, when they say fall break is from october 12-17, they're including weekends (and october 12 still has classes). so it's actually only 4 whole days of break =/

yea, its like u leave after classes on the 12th and you're back before classes on the 17th

so enough people stay on campus for things (esp certain food things) to be open, right? i guess im staying then, might as well save that airfare for thanksgiving.

yeah theres not enough time to fly.. you could always visit friends at nearby schools - last year i went to visit my best friend in boston and had a lot of fun!
