Fall Frat Rushing?

So I'm the kind guy who focuses a bit more on my future than the now, and in doing so, I kinda bypassed the option of joining a frat. Now, however, I'm kinda second guessing that choice. Can someone explain a few things for me:

What kind of time commitment does being in a frat entail.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of being in one. I'm pre-med and I understand that it really doesn't impact my CV at all.

If I want to join one now, what should I do? I'm guessing the opportunity has already passed me by for the rest of this year, but what about next? What frats do rush for sophomores?

Thanks CC.

Not many frat’s do fall rush, so that is limiting. You might see where your friends are and make a decision for spring rush based on that. By the time junior/senior years rolls around, lots of frat boys spend more time at clubs in Nashville. Not to say that big fraternity parties and activities aren’t still very well attended…it’s just that it seems to be the most important to people during freshman and sophomore years.
My son did a fraternity and was in the engineering school. The pledging period does take up a LOT of time in several of the houses. He was in one of those and was really stressed. He would say, however, that it was worth it to him.
