Room 13 in the basement with no windows and not able to use cell phone sounds really creepy and scary like something out of the movie Saw. I’d ask housing to at least give you a different room number to glue on your dorm room door.

tina92…sorry you didn’t get a room - are you on a waiting list? I’ll send positive thoughts to the dorm assignment gods for you… how did your friend get 5 roommates in Smith? and thanks for the info - I think the switching of the beds is a great idea!

Someone in the housing dept. (whoever runs the Facebook page) said that if you have more roommates listed than are possible, you’re on something that’s sort of like a waitlist.

broward. had a #4 priority number and requested a single, but got a roommate.

wow, alongwait–was broward your first choice? my son’s number was around 40 and his first choice was gilchrist and he got broward. I know they use gilchrist as honors overflow, but we were surprised he didn’t get in gilchrist with a number that we thought was so low…I wonder if more upperclassmen chose to stay on campus this year?

mabp2014, yeah I’m on the waiting list. They said I have hope since I applied on March 30th and the cut off date is April 9th for females. They also said that my friend is in a temporary room and she won’t be with all of those people. I don’t understand why they do that though…

no, broward was my 4th choice. glichrist was 1st. really surprised.

what happens if your room mate joins a sorority?

im joining a sorority to and its very unlikely that she will live in the house her first year because i heard they do it on seniority or points. but im not sure

oh ok thanks.

Haha guys Smith is not all that bad.

Oh and @Tina92

Your friend is probably in a Study Room room, its a lot bigger than normal rooms, but not sure if it can fit 5 people…maybe but not sure. They then move them into normal rooms in a week or so.

So, I’m in a triple…about how much floor space is there?

Are there mirrors inside the dorm rooms in Deviney?

I’ve never been inside Deviney, but per this thread, it doesn’t appear there is one.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/florida-state-university/607491-campus-housing-advice-current-freshman.html?highlight=housing+advice+freshman

Doesn’t mean you can’t buy a mirror for the room though.

Very true. Thanks for that thread Matt!

No there are no mirrors inside of Deviney :(

Aren’t there mirrors in Deviney’s bathrooms? You can get for $5 one of those long skinny mirrors that you can tape to wall in dorm room. Read on FSU Housing’s Facebook page that Deviney is only dorm with carpeting (brand spanking new!) At least Deviney has carpet going for it as a plus!

Deviney is a community hall, which means everyone shares a bathroom at the end of the hall.

I know Deviney only has community baths. I just want to be sure that there are mirrors in the community baths so that when I’m brushing my teeth I can look in a mirror to be sure I’m brushing the right set of teeth.

There are mirrors in the community bathrooms, but not in the rooms themselves.
