Anyone know what the fall musical is at NYU? Haven’t heard anything yet, but I’m sure auditions will be soon.

Rossij, when I was doing my Tech Assignment for ITP, I asked the stage manager for all the mainstages what the musical is, and she said they did not know yet. But, the musical will be in the Spring this time, and the first show of the new season will be another Brecht show, like Man is Man, which is playing now.

It's amazing - having a daughter going to NYU and having to find out information on CC..... ;)

Do you think that means the auditions will be in the Fall rather than this semester?

They will be, they will not be before the end of the Spring 2007 Semester.

There's no chance that they'd be in the summer though, right? I'm home for the summer!

RossJi....I also heard from my D that next year the Mainstage musical is in spring semester, not fall.

Jenny, they don't hold auditions when school is not in session. I bet auditions for a spring production will be in fall semester.

Coincidentally, in a late night IM, my D mentioned that the fall mainstage play is Galileo by Brecht. Since you all were talking about what it might be, and she happened to bring it up to me, I thought I would post it.

Yes, auditions next week woohoo! :)
If you find out what the musical is, do let us know.

Jenny....the musical is not yet announced. Good luck on auditions!

Like Rossji, I am so glad that I read CC otherwise I would never know about the plays or the auditions. Then again, I wonder if my daughter knows, she is so involved with her studio, she is oblivious to everything else around her! Thanks Soozievt and your daughter!

klri...well, um, before you thank my daughter....trust me, she has NO time to talk unfortunately. And I lament the lack of being able to have a conversation all the time. In the past week, I think I had one call and that was well, 6 AM on the West Coast where I was on a trip and she forgot about the time difference and so I wasn't too keen on talking in my sleep even if it was the only call of the week! Most of her calls are literally "on the run" between things and very short and end abruptly as she arrives at her destination. Also, about ten days or so ago, my D had a "crisis" of one sort or another, a big string of bad luck for about 8 days straight, (none to do with school) and so all calls were dealing with the crisis or mishap of the moment. Fun. Bad karma was on her tail. Sometimes, late at night, when she finally gets back to her apartment, she'll sign on to check her email and start homework (I don't know how they do that at midnight after going all day and night with school and rehearsals!) and so she might do a quick IM. I have been offline and traveling for over a week and returned home last night and so she found me to reconnect, after her opening night of her show. While it was a brief chat and she was exhausted and wanted to go to bed, she started gushing about how great school was, etc. She happened to then mention the show and so I thought I would post it, considering it was being discussed here! Thankfully, IMs exist, and so when ya least expect it, all this good stuff about school might spill out between the "good night's, I love ya....oh, and I gotta tell you...." LOL.
