daughter accepted at electrical engineering today. applied oct 15
depends on which school, which major. good shot for natural science. not good chance for engineering
I say you have a decent chance, probably not engineering but natural sciences you should be alright. A higher SAT might have helped tho, but if you wrote about that Alzheimer’s research thing I would have some confidence in that!
@koda288712 - you applied to Moody College of Communications- for the Political Communications & Natural Science for CompSci- yes? What was your first choice major?
Don’t know that much about Moody but, do know that CompSci is one of the most difficult majors to get into at UT.
Good Luck to you!
@bookmom7 My first choice major was Political Communications and I have internship at an Assemblyman’s office and have programming experience with an internship with our school’s IT Department.
@olddaddy12345 Can you please tell me ur D stats and is she OOS or In State? thanks
@olddaddy12345 was she auto admit?
@olddaddy12345 did she find out in the afternoon or in the evening just now?
RocStar/JTUni20, auto-admit, in-state, SAT2320 one setting, SAT Subject Math1/2/Chemistry 800, ranking - top 2% large competitive public school. AP CALC-BC, CHEMISTRY, STATISTICS, CS, English Language, Spanish -5, Psychology -4,
@JTUnit, D found out last night. She hasn’t checked in her UTAdmission portal for days. So she did not know exactly when she was accepted into Electrical Engineering.
My son was admitted into electrical engineering OOS. We were really surprised as we thought he wouldn’t hear anything until spring. Any idea when they will send official letter or email. It’s so exciting!
Have any ChemE or BME applicants heard back?
What do you all think my chances are for COLA with 29 ACT and 65% rank? Good EC’s, Good Essays, Job Experience.
@crash123 my MyStatus page showed me admitted on Tuesday and I got my official letter in the mail today. So would think soon.
@crash123, DS received admission and major acceptance on 11/17 and the official letter with Gone To Texas banner arrived in the mail today.
If you didn’t submit a separate resume along with the application is that going to affect your admission decision greatly? Like I feel I was able to convey everything in the application and didn’t need to submit one. Any thoughts?
@koda288712 I was in the same boat a few hours ago. I ended up deciding to submit a separate resume to be on the safe side about 3 hours ago. I want to give myself the best chance the can. Your application is fine I’m sure, but a separate resume doesn’t hurt. (:
For future posts, if you/ your child are accepted into the University of Texas at Austin, please try to relay the following:
-Date of Acceptance
-Date of Application
-Basic Stats (rank, gpa, test scores)
-Major, Honors, and Sholarships
@JTUni20 I submitted over Labor Day but my rec letters were not received until the first week of october. When do you think I could hear back?
