Daughter got in Turing CS honors today
Grats! I hope I hear from my engineering honors soon. I actually applied CS for my second choice so I applied for Turing and Dean’s in addition to Engineering Honors.
It still says they’re reviewing my Turing and Dean’s even though I was admitted to Engineering already lol
So, some of you already got into UT Austin?
@MasterOfDecept yes- a (first) round of students were admitted to their major & honors college programs. This will be an ongoing process through March 1, 2016.
@bookmom7 Do you know if it was only specific colleges? Our D is waiting to hear from CNS on a biochem major.
@bookmom7 Do you know if these admitted majors and honors were auto admit students already or holistic review?
I guess I was under the assumption that if you got your application in before something like October 1st, there was an Early Action at UT-Austin and you would get your decision back before Dec 15th, or Christmas break. So, I guess I’m asking, does UT-Austin have EA and if so when should an EA application receive it’s decision??
@TXDad56 I had applied for priority consideration to the CNS for neuroscience. I have not received a notification. When asking the admissions council, they told my parents and I that the first round was truly random, and it was just that. We found it highly ridiculous, but they defined priority as just as a safety net in case you forgot something. It gave no preference to another. So yup.
@NotSoPatient from this thread & the other (The University of Texas Class of 2020 Decisions Thread) there seems to be a wide variety of majors with decisions. DS was CNS (auto admit) but was admitted to first choice Physics.
If you search this thread (starting pg 7) or the other one- those updates were made on MyStatus around 11/17
@Thelma2 - again from other posts- it seems like it was both- as some were OOS.
There is also another thread about the McCombs School of Business- numerous post of students accepted & also offered the BHP. In addition to Business- think several posts have been made about Plan II acceptance & then yesterday there were posts of acceptance to Turing (compsi)- so, again a wide variety of decision & notifications.
Good Luck to everyone! (I know it is not easy waiting!!)
I am an OOS and I was admitted to Cockrell already. So it’s not just auto-admits
@vvsitalia Exactly the same case for me. I’m 1% out of autoadmit
I am an auto-admitted, CS and have not received any letter yet. No worry
@sarangooL When did you apply and when did you hear back? I’m OOS, applied around Nov 2 but wasn’t really expecting a response until January or later.
@shaninbe Can I ask when did she apply? I’m an international student and my status was completed at Oct 16. I still didn’t get my decisions.
September.
has anyone OOS gotten into the College of Liberal Arts?
@Iamsixtyone I applied in like oct, heard back last month
So I have to ask again, Does UT-Austin have an EA decision time frame in December?? Son applied in August and said he would get a response in December. Is that just hopeful or real?
My understanding is that UT Austin does not have EA. Applications for next fall were due by 12/1. They started releasing major acceptances midNov based on rolling admissions and that will continue until March. Your son might get a decision in December or it could be as late as Feb/March.
I submitted for CS/Turing/Dean on 10/11/2015. Have not received anything yet. by the way, stats: SAT2390, in state. top 10 of 600. Taken 9 AP (5 for 7AP and 4 for 2AP).
