@NotSoPatient - it seemed to be afternoon but, that was just when the MyStatus page was checked. The decision shows on the Admissions tab- at the top it changes from ‘not sure…’ to "Welcome to the Class of 2020… with info about the major and College.
@upennpal- it means that they are still reviewing your application (especially if you are a non-auto & yes, there have been posters confirming they were admitted non-auto). UT will continue to release decisions- with March 1 being the latest date. I know waiting is stressful but, sometime we just have to be patient. Good Luck to you!
@Dddok5 do you mind telling me if you applied for an honors program??
My daughter awaiting answer on CS also. She applied for Deans also. No word on either yet.
Psywar jr. received a letter from UT Engineering Honors Program dated Dec. 1st 2015. EHP had offered him a $40k scholarship (10k per year). Needless to say we are incredibly surprised and delighted as UT doesn’t give out much merit and honestly we weren’t expecting this at all.
Rank: 3/729
4.0 GPA UW, national AP scholar (15 APs by end of senior year, so far all 5’s except one 4 in Spanish)
National Merit SF
36 ACT
2310 SAT
800 Math 2, 780 Chem
A few minor awards, good community service, some interesting ECs, but nothing mind blowing. Good recs.
He is so happy about EHP, but is really after EHP+Plan II.
Does anyone know how UT is releasing their majors for auto applicants?
I applied back in October but haven’t heard anything about my major (EE)
I also applied for EHP and am ranked pretty high in my class.
I only applied to one other school and it wasn’t EA so does that have anything to do with it?
Click on page 18 of this thread to find it. Again just my theory, nothing official.
In addition, noticing that test scores can be sent in as late as December 31, I think unless you have very high rank and test scores and/or a very high PAI, you’ll have to wait until all the test scores get in.
From what I’ve heard and read, even if the app was submitted prior to Oct 15th, (my son submitted his on August 23rd) we may not get a response til March. Only thing it bought us was getting in line early with the housing app.
UT sends out acceptances in waves. First wave came out during the Thanksgiving weekend. I’ve heard some other one offs here and there since, but now people are posting the next large wave should be between now and Christmas break. I guess these waves will continue until like March time frame.
@Krystamarie3 we would like to know that as well. I have seen someone post that they got a decision already from CNS. My DD is waiting for her first choice Biochem. We’ve heard nothing. It’s getting a little stressful She has other acceptances, but she really wants to go to UT Austin.
There are different waves or admission offers, but it all goes down to regional offices. Sometimes people get a decision at a later date due to a slow process at a regional office.
