Just a head’s up to anyone who might have similar stats and was concerned about getting in OOS (I live in Oregon).

to those wondering, waves are released all at once. and the next one will be in february. that will be the last.

How’d you find that out? @vs1997

Not January but February, sigh…what a long wait!

Where did you get that information and why no January release?

Quick question: is it necessary to apply for housing now, or does it not matter since I see that we can’t even choose residence halls in the app?It would be kinda ridiculous to pay the $50 housing app fee only to not be accepted (I’m out of state).

^ Apply for housing NOW if you are at all serious about attending UT. You need to get in the housing queue. We applied for housing a month ago and my DS’ application is still under review.

Consider the housing fee to be part of the application fee.

Also if you do not get accepted the housing deposit and the enrollment deposit(if you paid) will be refunded back to you.

Actually you won’t be able to pay a housing deposit if you’re not accepted to UT, so the only housing $$ you’ll be out is the $50 application fee.

^^^ sorry I meant that

How do y’all know that the last wave will be sent out in February?

Everyone that gets admitted knows before March 1.

I applied to COLA on October 15th and haven’t heard back. Do you think it’s possible they already rejected me and just haven’t formally notified me?

I have auto-admit friends who sincerely want me to attend with them. I can’t imagine having to go up to them and telling them how badly I failed at this.

You won’t get rejected. You will at least be offered CAP since you are a Texas resident. Reading your other posts, your rank is the problem. You may not know until late February.

It is not a failure. It is a school. There is more than one way to get where you are going. Don’t get hung up on one school.

What is your plan B?

@sunbeams

Hey again, I assume you guys haven’t found out yet?

@sarangooL No news here, still in review…
Congrats to you!! How many schools have you been accepted so far?

@sunbeams

Thank you, I was accepted to 4 (not including my in-state backup) but I applied to 10. (Will never hear back from other 5)

I had to withdraw and decline all my offers though under Rice’s contract. Hopefully, that spot can be freed up for your son!! :slight_smile:

@sarangooL Wow! Awesome! You got your #1 choice, Rice! So happy for you!

I wish it could work that way where you just pass on your acceptance to my son directly! How nice would that be! :slight_smile:

@sunbeams

Yea haha. Did he apply to many other schools as well?

@sarangooL He applied all EA to 8 schools, only got accepted to his 2 safeties. 2 deferred and waiting to hear from the rest. He has great GPA and EC but ACT was not strong (31 one sitting). He only took once.
