Fall of 2016 Applicants

I heard that there would be a wave around the 15th of January, don’t know how true it is.

@britishlad24 where’d you hear about that wave?

^I heard around Jan.4

That is the first day the office is open, fully staffed after the Holiday break so, that may be the date. Or possibly sometime during the week?

This year the first wave of notices came out on November 17 and the second on December 17. So if I had to guess I would say January 17 will be the next wave.

How quickly does McCombs usually fill up? I applied to McCombs on November 26th. Was that too late?
I’m instate and don’t have auto admission.

I applied to A&M on December 1st and was not considered for Mays Business School because it was full, which is why I’m worried about UT now.

I am surprised A&M Business School is full. I think they do the same as UT Austin release results in batches. As students who are auto-admit decides to go to other school. I am may be one of those who may not go to A&M (did get admitted to A&M Mays Business School)

A&M fills majors first come first serve (except engineering which they fill to 85 percent that way). UT does not fill on first come first serve. UT holistically reviews for majors. People will get into McCombs all the way through the end (which should be March 1) but last year seemed to end around February 20.

Im out of state, got a 30 on the ACT and have averaged a 95% throughout high school. What are the odds I get in and when?

I also applied over two months ago.

@calebbyorth what’s your major?

Any in state non auto art students with a portfolio hear yet?

@IBislife 1. electrical engineering 2. Geoscience engineering and hydrogeology

@calebbyorth I would like to say that yes, you will probably get in. But don’t take my word for it, it depends on so many other factors, like your essays, extracurriculars and community service.

@IBislife Thank you, I appreciate the input!

Has anyone gotten any decisions from the Theater Arts department?

I was wondering if anybody applying straight to undeclared in the College of Undergraduate Studies has heard back yet.

Hi all,
I’m planning on transferring in Fall 2016 from the Honors College at University of Houston.
First choice major: CNS- Nutrition
Second choice major: COE- Kinesiology & Health
I ultimately want to internally transfer to CNS- Public Health but I didn’t keep that as my first choice because I heard it is more competitive, and I’m ok with either of those 2 majors.
My current GPA from Fall 2015: 3.437
My expected GPA after Spring 2016: 3.63-3.75 (depending on how many Bs I get.)
I haven’t done my essays or LORs yet, but I will spend a lot of time on perfecting them before I submit.
Some ECs I have from high school: President of Science National Honor Society for 2 years, 200 Hours of health science externship (shadowing/rotations), ran 2 blood drives, part time employment, NHS, and a LOT (like over 500) of volunteering hours from my religious center. Was top 5% in high school and had ACT 31 (not sure if that matters.)
In college I joined Pre PA association, and I’m still volunteering.
I have Calc 1, Bio 1&2, and Chem 1 credit (with labs.)
What are my chances for both majors? And is it easier to get into CNS- Undeclared? Thank you for reading my long post!

Anyone know how to withdraw the app?

@hookem2016 I don’t have any answers to your questions BUT I applied to Nutrition! Haven’t gotten a decision yet though.
