@liberalguy97 Applying after the priority deadline won’t hurt your chances but I also don’t think you’ll get early notification since you missed the priority deadline.
What does OOS mean?
Out of state
For people who have been notified on their admissions status’ , when did you submit your full application? I submitted October 13th. (NON AUTO ADMITS ONLY)
DS, (non auto-admit), applied on September 1 and received acceptance notification on November 17.
When do you guys think they will send out decisions for undergraduate studies?
I am an in-state auto-admin applicant who submitted application by Oct. 15th. However, I haven’t been accepted into my major of computer science. Has anybody been accepted into comp sci yet?
I am a non auto admit, applied at the end of September to COLA and have not heard back yet.
I know when someone said “auto admit”, they are in-state. How about when they refer to “non-auto admit”, is it also pertain to in-state? Or that’s everybody else. Thanks!
@Rahultimate My son is an auto admit and recieved notification of acceptance to computer science on 11/17. He submitted his application on 10/13. Hopefully you will hear something soon!
@sunbeams Auto admit refers to in state students who rank in the top 8% of their class (it varies by year, but this year, it is top 8%). Non-auto refers to anyone else, in state or out of state.
Did any non-auto got admission notice for liberal arts undeclared?
@rabihorn my friend was a non auto admit and was accepted into The College of Liberal Arts for Advertising.
Thanks, @wardroger000 . Daughter applied to liberal arts undeclared. I am wondering if it would have been better to apply to specific LA major such as psychology. Undeclared may hurt her admission chances. Any comments ?
@aspiringsenior05 Thanks!
@3Pagodas
Congrats! That is the first I have heard of a Computer science major getting notice. Did your son apply to any of the cns honors programs as well?
@rabihorn, I was specifically told by an admissions officer that it would be better for DS to apply toward a specific major rather than undeclared. DS is instate, non auto-admit and received acceptance on 11/17. His application was entirely geared to showing how he was academically a good fit for history such as including on his resume and referencing in his essays his AP test scores in US History (5) & World History (5), and SAT US Subject test score of 740. We sent those scores to UT even though they are not directly used for admissions purposes. DS extracurriculars showed demonstrated interest in history as well and his recommendation letters came from AP US History and AP World History teachers.
I think there’s a function to change major choice in MyStatus. If you believe your daughter’s application evidences academic preparedness for a certain major, it might be beneficial to select a major change. I’d recommend you email your local UT admissions center to see if they are willing to provide any advice before you do anything.
@Rahultimate Son also auto-admit, admitted to compsci November 17th. He’s still waiting on honors.
Daughter applied August for CS and Turing. Auto admit. Accepted into CS 11/18. No word on Turing.
@Bailey101 He did apply to the Turing Scholars Program and is still waiting on that decision. In recent years those begin to roll out anywhere from the end of November to mid December.
