I sent in my full application on October 13. (Non Auto Admit) I’m just trying to get an idea of when I’ll be notified of acceptance or rejection. I did COLA as a Psychology major. I think if super early applicants (August-September) started receiving information, I’ll probably find out within the next couple of weeks. Pray for me <3
Any idea, on what basis these early admissions are being issued? Also are the admissions coming every day from now on?
One of my friends called the admissions staff and they said something to the effect that "This first batch was a test run to make sure the notification process was efficient. Decisions will be on a rolling basis after that, with most auto admits being notified before winter break. "
We had same concern but my son was admitted on Wednesday with an undeclared major.
@slg333 , was that liberal arts undeclared?
Yes. He debated applying for the business school and in the end chose LA undecided. He’s thrilled! Didn’t expect to hear until February.
Congrats @slg333, my son was in shock when he initially saw his acceptance in MyStatus. Totally takes away the drama of waiting for A&M which was his in-state back-up choice.
Also, its good to hear that applying as undeclared is not necessarily a hindrance. I think my son needed to apply specifically for his major because other than his test scores for COLA, (2070 SAT and 32 ACT), his rank was really, really low for UT. However, he went all out on the application by submitting three essays than just the minimum two and a very detailed four-page resume respecting extracurricular and academic fit.
@slg333, thanks. When did he apply? Could you share your son’s stats. My daughter is within top20% of Westlake high, 34 ACT, reasonably good essays and EC. She finished her application Oct 15 as LA undeclared. We are nervously waiting for a decision from UT!
@fatherof2boys My son was ecstatic also and congratulations to you too. We have never seen the campus and are visiting after the holidays!
@rabihorn We are from NJ. My son had a 31 ACT and 4.1 GPA. Your daughter will no doubt be admitted with those excellent stats!
@rabihorn His application was submitted late September.
how late, if you don’t mind me asking?
@sig333 how late, if you dont mind me asking?
@JTUni20 I am not sure of exact date, but it was very late in the month until our HS was ready with the transcripts and recommendations.
Has anyone heard anything back for neuroscience majors?
@slg333, I’m certain you will enjoy the campus and one of the primary benefits of UT is the city of Austin. My wife and I are both alums and living in Austin during our college years was an amazing experience. It truly is among a handful of great college towns with great outdoor activities, amazing food, and one of the best music scenes out there.
@texangirl505 when did you send in your application?
I recently sent in my application to UT and was wondering what you guys think my chances are getting in as an OOS applicant. 1960 SAT, 7 AP’s, 2nd in my class, a bunch of extracurriculars, good letter of recommendations, believe essays were good, and I also own my own non-profit that raises money for Alzheimer’s research. Based on this do you think my chances are low, average, above average? UT is my first choice so it would be nice to get someones opinion as if I should start considering about looking somewhere else or go more community college route.
@koda288712
What college are you applying for?
@sarangooL I’m applying to Political Communications and Computer Science
Probably not a huge deal, but to those non auto admits. Did your status change from “in review” to “complete” mine did today and finished my app on 10/13. Does this mean anything? I hope so…
