@GeoRadioactive I see, well I guess I’ll find out sooner or later. My gpa actually went down in the fall semester, so it won’t really boost it unfortunately (3.62-3.6). But I do see where you’re coming from, hopefully I’ll still get accepted.
Hi guys! Hope I’m not too late to the party! I’m transferring from UCF with 92? credit hours…I think…sorry technically* my first year of college and I’m already a senior status :/. Does anybody know if a transfer is able to double major once there?
Major: Economics
Overall gpa: 3.67
term applied to: Fall 2017
Guys I just submitted my application for the college of liberal arts and sciencesee! I’m hoping for the best!

Update:
Today, I checked and found this:
Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2017 term has been referred to your college for a final decision. You may contact your college for further information concerning your admissions decision. Please refer to the information below to determine whether any additional information is required. If you have sent information to us recently, please allow time for processing.
I applied on the 12/31/2016, they received HS transcripts on Jan 5th, college transcripts the 13th (because my college -Miami Dade- failed to send them electronically, so I had to send them by mail).
I hope I get a decision soon!
Good luck to you all guys!
Do you have +90 (semester) credits already? I just read that if you had 90 credits (based on a semester basis) you couldn’t transfer because you have a senior status at your current institution. Let me know if I am wrong.
Good luck!

Update:
I emailed UF transfer admissions inquiring as to how long the wait time is from the time they refer your application to your college. Below is the response I received:
“It can vary based on their current workload and things like that, usually I would assume it would take 3-4 weeks. If you wish to get more specific information, you would need to speak to an advisor within the college, and they should be able to assist your further.”
Basically, more waiting! lol
Hey guys,
My application for Summer B as a History major was completed and referred to the CLAS on January 3rd.
I was accepted yesterday on January 18th. I was surprised I got the decision so soon. I have a 3.67 GPA and almost no extracurriculars except a part time job.
Best of luck to everyone
@Malekfour Congratulations!!!
Mine was referred yesterday, gotta wait i guess. Have you already applied for housing? I applied and paid the $25 fee but havent heard from them yet.
@Malekfour Mine was referred to my college two days after yours was. You are giving me hope! lol I hate all this waiting though. I need to know where I will be living in August. It’s hard to make that decision when you haven’t heard back from all the schools you applied to.
Hey guys!
I submitted my application for Fall 2017 on December 22nd, and my last transcript just got mailed out yesterday. Found out I got on the Dean’s List a few weeks after I submitted, which is a bummer, but oh well. It’s my first year attending the University of West Florida, but this semester I’m classified as a Sophomore (all that AP and dual enrollment actually paid off) and over the summer I’ll be taking some classes to make sure I pass that 60 credit minimum. I’m a little concerned about some of my credits not transferring and in-turn making me ineligible to transfer, but I’m trying to stay positive and compare my courses to the UF catalog to make sure I don’t run into any future problems. Let me know if any of you are more familiar with the credit evaluation process. I’m wondering if it’s simply the college comparing course numbers or if they actually sit down and compare course content to see if they are equivalent, even if the ID doesn’t match.
Good luck everybody!
Major: CLAS Anthropology
Overall GPA: ~3.5 (Got a C in math during my dual enrollment days. Hopefully will be higher by the end of Spring)
Current School GPA: 3.85
Term Applied: Fall 2017
@bridget28 This is what I found on UF’s website about it. Hope it helps!
“CREDIT EVALUATION
It is the prerogative of the student’s UF college to determine how transfer credit satisfies the specific degree’s course requirements. Courses from Florida public community colleges and State University System schools generally adhere to the Statewide Course Numbering System. If the prefix (first three letters) and the last three digits of the course number are the same, then the course is considered equivalent.”
How long does it take to get the login credentials to set up an account to check your status?
@GeoRadioactive I have not submitted the housing application yet as I’m waiting for all the official mail to come in first. I really have no idea what dorm I want to live in and which ones will be next to all my classes. Does anyone know when orientation normally is?
@laura97 I also had this problem. I submitted my application before winter break but never received an email with all my login credentials to check my status. Turns out you have to call the UF help desk and get it sent to you. The guy said I didn’t receive my login credentials at first because I didn’t put a home phone number on my application.
@IWantUF87 Yeah I did see that on the site. I’m wondering if they look into detail about ones the don’t necessarily match by number but, say, have the same title/subject matter, know what I mean? I appreciate it though. I sent an email to CLAS Transfer so see if they could clear up whether my admittance is determined by me earned at least 60 credits period, or if those 60 credits must be transferrable in order to be admitted. Will update when I can!
@bridget28 Oh, ok. I see what you’re saying. Yes, it would definitely be nice to know that information!
@Malekfour yeah i already got it fixed i can now check my status thank you so much
My status right now is Your application has been received and is being evaluated and so on
