Fall of 2017/ Transfer UF

Hey guys, I sent in my application in January 16 and got accepted February 4 (yesterday)
My conditions are to complete the following classes with at least B’s: CHM2210, CHM2210L, and MAC2311. and to receive my AA degree.

Major: Biology CLAS
Overall GPA: 3.61
Term: Fall 2017

I really didn’t have any extracurricular activities except a pre-pharmacy club (I’m not in anymore). By the time I transfer, I’ll have 76 credits. I am currently at Broward College.

Hey guys!

As of this past Friday (Feb. 3rd), my application got referred to CLAS! They received my last transcript on Jan. 23rd, so it took a little over a week for them to move me to the next step. Hoping to get my decision soon, good luck everybody.

@RawMayo Congratulations on your admission! Good luck in your courses. Try to choose good professors because these two courses can be tough.

@GeoRadioactive Thanks! For those course, I am taking them right now and I have pretty good professors so getting at least a B should not be too hard.

@GeoRadioactive How did you find out about important information for transfer preview and all that? I didn’t receive an email or anything about it.

@RawMayo What I first did was to find a spot for living in Gainesville. On-campus housing options simply don’t work for me. I signed a contract to move to a quad off campus with some junior friends I know there. Other than that, wait until you get your official admissions letter which you should get within 10 days, I got mine last Tuesday, and I live in Miami, so it took roghly a week to get down here. Along with the admissions letter there’s a brochure that will tell you what to do next. You don’t have to pay any enrollment fee or anything, that only applies to freshmen students. You do have, though, to contact your major advisor, and ask him when he/she’s available in summer so you don’t meet with a general advisor instead. Once you know when he’s available, schedule your transfer preview and pay the $100. Oh by the way, transfer preview dates are not posted yet, so you gotta wait. You can also work on your immunizations forms. Hope this info helps!

I got in!!!

Just checked my app status this morning, and I’ve officially been accepted. I did NOT expect to receive my decision so quickly (my app just got referred to CLAS on the 3rd). Good luck to everybody still waiting on their decisions!

Here are my stats again, if anybody was curious:

Major: CLAS; Anthropology
Overall GPA: ~3.5
Current School GPA: 3.85
Term Applied: Fall 2017
(No Conditions of Admission, just said Welcome to UF on my acceptance)

Transferring from Broward College with my A.A degree (60+ credits)
Major: CLAS: Political Science
Overall GPA: 3.28
Current GPA: 3.27
Term Applied: Fall 2017

Didn’t get accepted, reason “We regret to inform you that your application for the Fall 2017 term was not among the limited number we were able to approve for admission”

@bridget28 Congratulations new Gator! I got accepted 15 days ago into the Geology BS program. I’m glad for you mainly because our majors are quite similar. My name’s Alberto btw. Best of luck!

@rangel8039 courage! You lost nothing. This decision only narrows down your choices and gives you the opportunity to choose among many more universities. Don’t let any admissions decision or gpa define you. I wish you best of luck!

@GeoRadioactive Thanks! Congrats to you too, hopefully we’ll run into each other one of these days

Hey all,

I put this in another thread but thought I would add it here because why not

Applying for Fall from Santa Fe, but most classes from Out-of-State
Major: Statistics
GPA: 3.88, 4.0 on prerequisite coursework (Calc 1, 2)
Application was referred this week so hoping for quick response (and a good one at that!)

I got rejected

I never got a notification saying that my application got referred to my college of choicw

@laura97 I’m sorry to hear that. :frowning: They don’t send a notification when your application has been referred to your college. It’ll just show on your Check Status page.

@IWantUF87 That is the point it never showed on the check status page and i checked every day at different times and today i checked at about 1:30 and it said your application has been received and is being evaluated blah blah that same stuff and at 4:30 was when i got the rejection notification.

@laura97 I don’t want to give you much hope, but they make mistakes sometimes. Even if you find that you got accepted thru their website, there’s a chance the information is not accurate. Wait for official notification (mail) to arrive. I got mine in less than 10 days. Best of luck from MDC☺!

@GeoRadioactive Thank you! Im gonna to call them tomorrow to find out the reason why i was rejected.

@laura97 I definitely agree with @GeoRadioactive. It could be that they misinterpreted something regarding your transcripts. I know a guy this happened to recently.
