fall registration and foreign language placement

Does anyone know when the incoming class take the foreign language placement test? Is there one? How does registration work? Do they need to have an idea what classes to register for before they come on campus? Is all this information on Tufts site and we just don't know where to look?

Well I don’t know for sure, but my guess is that after May1 st when they know who is coming in the fall, you and your students will start getting information about everything. How much will be online versus in the US Mail I don’t know. At WPI, they set up a special website for the incoming freshman to help them with course selection, placement test etc… Basically everything they would need to know. Some things came in the mail for the parents.

RELAX! Take a deep breath…

From past experience…Frosh register during orientation in the fall. Although one exception is the freshman only seminar options which they request in the summer. Language placement tests are given during orientation, although some placements can be done by AP or SAT score.

What 1012mom said. [Undergraduate Orientation - Student Services - Tufts University](<a href=“Undergraduate Orientation | AS&E Students”>Undergraduate Orientation | AS&E Students) is pretty good for answering most questions. Creating a preliminary schedule before getting to campus is helpful, but don’t stress too much about it.

If you want, feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. Most important right now is to relax and have your son or daughter enjoy the rest of their senior year.

the foreign language placement takes place during orientation. It’s not a big deal.

It might be helpful for your student to take a look at the course listings to see if there’s anything which catches their eye (there should be  ).

If you’re looking for a really convenient tool to test out schedules and see if classes are open, go to [Tufts Course Selection](<a href=“RaptorAttack.com is available at DomainMarket.com. Call 888-694-6735”>RaptorAttack.com is available at DomainMarket.com. Call 888-694-6735). I have absolutely no idea how it got the name raptorattack.com, but it is incredibly useful in schedule planning.
