Fall Registration starting April 14th

I saw this message somewhere on NYU Home:

Fall, 2008:
Fall registration begins at 9:00 a.m. EST on Monday, April 14, 2008.
The first day of classes is Tuesday, September 2, 2008.

Can anyone provide me an insight about the whole process? What exactly are we supposed to do?

You check your registration time on Albert via the "Registration Status" tab, and you try to register as close to that time as possible to get classes that you want before they fill up. That's for a returning undergrad...I'm not sure when the registration times are for new freshmen.

I think thats for upperclassman only. Freshman register at the summer orientations I thought after they meet with their advisors

Yeah, if you're a freshman, don't worry about it. Your advisor will walk you through the whole process during summer registration.

Alright, thank you for all the replies =]

Just to confirm, registration is for upperclassmen. But, just so you know, they hold a certain number of spots in all sorts of classes open, so that freshman can register. Don't feel like you'll get screwed b/c you pick last ;)

If they hold spots open for upcoming freshmen, do the sections labeled "closed" have a number reserved, or are freshmen left only to take the classes with the "enrollment restrictions" marked by a ">" sign? Do you know what these restrictions are? One of the classes I want to take is Elem. Chinese, but all of the sections are closed except one that has this restriction. I just hope that we freshmen can choose among more than one section.
