I’m not asking for a “chance me”, I don’t have any of my stats on here so of course you can’t say much about them. I’m asking if my senior grades will hurt my chances.
All your STEM stuff is not lookin to good. If you are doing engineering or bio, these grades definitely wont help you. I don’t know if they will significantly hurt you though.
This is only a portion of your grades. Schools look at grades starting freshman year not just the senior year. Haven’t the fall grades been posted? I’m not understanding why you listed the grades as if you weren’t sure what you received.
Hello all, I have some answers for your questions. Firstly, no, these grades do not represent my past grades. I’ve gotten all A’s in high school, with the exception of 2-3 B’s (B+’s). These grades aren’t final because we are in the process of exams. I’m applying Undecided to these schools, and if any of these schools doesn’t have an “undecided” option, I chose my major as either Astronomy or Anatomy. These are my senior, first semester estimated grades below, thank you!
AP Calculus: B-
Anatomy: A-
AP Literature: A- or A
AP Micro: A- or A
Visual Basic: A
AP Physics: B+ or A-
Besides senior year, I have a weighted ~3.9 and unweighted ~3.8
For those wondering…
SAT: 1440 (750 Math and 690 English)
ACT: 31 (35 English, 33 Math, 30 Reading, 25 Science)
For some reason I do better on English sometimes and Math other times, I submitted both my ACT and SAT to all of these schools for this reason.
I’ve always done well in science and physics, A’s throughout the years. I don’t know why, maybe because I’ve done so much this year (5 extracurriculars + soccer + college apps + YouTube + photography + E-commerce + etc). It’s been busy, but I don’t have a fair excuse as to why I’m lagging.
Final thoughts, will these grades directly hurt my chances?
Did you apply undecided CAS at NYU? If so your stats all look like a solid match, and I don’t think those grades will hurt, but it’s not a shoo-in either. Hopefully good essays (especially the why NYU essay if undecided) and recs.
