We can buy the Fall text books now !!

<a href="http://shop.book.uci.edu/ePOS?term=074&store=446&form=shared3%2ftextbooks%2ftext_browse%2ehtml&design=446#currentdept%5B/url%5D">http://shop.book.uci.edu/ePOS?term=074&store=446&form=shared3%2ftextbooks%2ftext_browse%2ehtml&design=446#currentdept</a></p>

Do you reserve the books and pick them up when school starts?

these books are so expensive and the descriptions are so vague (no ISBN)...if we used amazon or half.com to buy them, how the heck would we know if we got the right copy? lol

^^.. lolz.. i was just about to post that. Are their specific versions/isbn#s of the book we need?

I posted this in some other thread...I'll post it here as well.

To whoever asked about ISBN numbers, here is the key:

Add the books you need to your cart on the bookstore's website. Search for any other random book(doesn't have to be something you need.)

On the right side of the page next to that book description, the site will show your shopping cart. The books you added will be clickable links to a description of the book. Look at the address bar in your web browser when you're on the page of a book you need. For example the page for one of my books is

<a href="http://shop.book.uci.edu/ePOS?store=...tml&design=446%5B/url%5D">http://shop.book.uci.edu/ePOS?store=...tml&design=446</a></p>

That number following "item_number=" IS the ISBN number.

You're welcome.

haha thanks!

i read this at another forum too but it wouldn't let me click on the item. I'll go and try ur way!

oh wow, that works. thanks!

am i the only one who can't figure out how it works? Boo. Can you try and help me chris? One of my class is Bio 93, course code 05350. Please tell me why it doesn't show up for me. Thanks

Okay, so I'm in the same class/course as "sweetdream", and for some reason I can't get past the "add items to cart" step.

After I added my selections to my cart, I tried searching for a book in the search bar (following Chrisr88's intructions), but when I clicked on the "go" button, it didn't take me anywhere. o.O

Is anyone else having trouble with the search function, or am I the odd one out? I'm guessing it might have something to do with my browser? clueless

Try just going to another page. Here, try going to "general books" at the top of the page, then hit "hot picks." Now your cart should show up on the right side.

^ That did it. Thanks ^.^

thanks a lot for your help, chris.

I think I'm stupid for not being able to find a lot of these ISBNs on the website. For example, the item number that is listed after I click the title of the book from my shopping cart is :9781429209656 (Chem H2A--Chemical Principles by Atkins) and that is a very odd version of the book..or in the least, very expensive for one quarter.

How about we start (or I will start if you guys want) a list of some found ISBNS?

Maximaboy1, many books, especially science ones, will be over a hundred dollars new. There are plenty of ways to save money on book so i suggest you look around a bit. I'm sorry to say you have to get used to the prices.

arrg....HELP!!
how come after i add those books and go to another page, it shows "Your shopping cart is empty"?
can someone help me find the books for ICS 21, 36510 and Math 2B, 44305?...thank you!!!!

I ordered many books last week but my order history is EMPTY. It is more scary. I don't want to order again.

I'm very used to the prices of new science books being 120+. I'm just "upset" that we have to get a new edition of the book since the class requires the newly published version. I've been in many AP classes throughout my HS career...buying books was very normal..I was just fortunate a lot of those books had plenty of used versions so the prices weren't so expensive.

I ordered some books for a class. But then the instructor sent me an email saying the class does NOT require any textbooks !!!

UCI Lover, what classes are those?

sweetdream:

anthro 2a

Can anyone help me with this? I ordered some books online but the order history shows empty. Maybe my order did not go through?
