<p>The UW Admissions Office routinely withholds its decision for transfer and postbac applicants to competitive majors until the departments conduct their admissions reviews. Once a department completes its admission process, it notifies the University of its decisions and forwards a list of applicants recommended for admission. After receiving departmental decisions, the university Admissions Office typically responds promptly by sending out appropriate letters. So if you’re recommended for admission to a department, you’re likely to receive an offer of admission to the University very quickly thereafter.</p>

<p>I applied for Design which you have to attend their workshop and get selected. Unfortunately, I didn’t get selected and that was back in mid-June. So I’ve been thinking
if they weren’t going to accept me because I didn’t make it to design, they should’ve done that earlier?? Since I can’t do anything about UW’s decision, I’m going to accept whatever they decide. I just wish they could hurry up so that I can prepare applying for Winter quarter or attending fall quarter depending on which letter I get…</p>
<p>I applied to the UW for fall 2011 admission and still waiting for the result.
The wait is killing me. Im stressed out over checking Unofficial transcript again and again.
Most of my friends who applied to the UW have already heard back.</p>
<p>One of my friends who had applied to the UW last year heard back at the end of July and he was accepted. Isn’t it ridiculous to wait for the result so long? Apparently, UW is the only school, I know, that let students wait up to July. It seems they don’t care about students who hold acceptance by other universities in other states.</p>
<p>Im trying to keep my mind up by thinking that UW let me wait for so long since I’m accepted. There is really no reason for me to await if Im rejected.</p>
<p>So I was accepted by the One of the Engineering Department(Received the offer yesterday), but I still heard nothing form the General Admission. How much longer do I need to wait??</p>
<p>@Allen89, I was under the impression if you got accepted by the department that you’d be accepted by the university. It might take a couple days. Congrats on the department admission!</p>

<p>Thank you Meesh! I was accepted into Industrial& System Engineering(my first major:)). It was also sad that 4 of my friends was rejected by this department. </p>

<p>Thanks Allen! I applied to the communications department but on my unofficial transcript it says social sciences. I think I remember reading something that said communication applicants have to start off with social sciences as their major though. And yes, I thought the entire admissions department was on vacation too. Haha, they are definitely cutting it close!</p>

<p>As of today,I received offer from two engineering department. They want me to respond by August 5th. However, to respond the offer I’ll need a UW SID, which of course I don’t have… Hope they can speed up a little bit.</p>

<p>My unoffical transcript loaded today!!! I was sooo happy I cried ahahha my application status message hasn’t changed yet though. I applied as a computer science major, but on my transcript it says pre science so i guess i didn’t get into the dept.</p>
