any fall transfer students heard anything... i know the application was just due feb 15th and that the notification is through june and july but i was hoping that i would find something out sooner...

Nope. I’ve been in “awaiting an initial review” since I applied. A departmental adviser I talked to last year said that most transfer applications get reviewed in April.

You shouldn’t really worry about it, though. I think anyone who’s prepared for their major shouldn’t have too hard of a time getting in.

ooh, cool, so most transfer students get their decisions in april/may?

also, i am transfering from a four year university after 1 year so i am afraid i cant be that confident…

As far as I know, yeah, the auto-accepts get notified then. But if a decision isn’t reached at that point, the admissions process really can go into mid-to-late summer.

And keep in mind that about half of all transfer applications were accepted last year. If you have really strong freshman academics and your personal statement demonstrates a compelling need to get into the UW, I’d think you have a shot. Other than that, be sure to get into contact with the department that you eventually want to get into, and see if they have any advice.

has any transfer student heard anything from UW yet? i’ve been anxious lately… mine still says “awaiting an initial review” .

mine still says waiting initial review too

i have not heard anything yet.
i’m getting nervous though, because i have to make a decision by may 1st for both the other colleges i applied to. :/

I’m in the same position as you sunshine29. The other college I applied to requires me to respond by May 1 but UW may not get back to us transfers until June or July even. This really stresses me out. I’m probably going to have to make a decision whether to just accept my back-up school or move forward without any guarantees and hope that UW admits me.

My account still says “We have received all materials required to review your application. Your application will remain in this status until decisions are finalized. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.” I applied in December. I will be graduating from TCC in June with the AAS transfer degree and I will have all of the recommended prerequisite courses for my major (and a 3.75 GPA at time of application), but I’m still very nervous. Hopefully someone on this forum hears something soon to give us all a little hope.

I just got an acceptance letter today, I applied for spring quarter but they reapplied me again for fall quarter due to the insufficient funding. The letter is dated April 7th and it said the packet will be coming in 2 to 3 weeks.

indomi, did the transcript load thing that all the freshman on this post are talking about work for you?

Congrats btw indomi!

Thanks m7brady. I took a summer course last year at the UW so my transcript has always loaded. But my application status still remains the same, it said “We have received all materials required to review your application…” and my transcript still shows that I’m a non-matriculated student so I’m assuming that it didn’t load…

I was kinda surprised that the letter came since there were no indications whatsoever.
Hopefully yours is on its way m7brady.

Thanks for the info!

Accepted. Mine is also dated on April 7th. I was also one of those who’s application had to be postponed due to the economy. My transcript did not load.

congrats jjc0908!!
did you apply for autumn 09 or spring?

Has anyone heard back for summer transfer?
Or know of people who applied for summer transfer and the chances of being accepted? I hope they make decisions soon. Considering that registration for that quarter begins on April 20th, and class starts on June 22nd.
Ugh. I just want to know, haha.

Thanks~ I originally applied for Spring quarter.

I called UW yesterday and asked them when they will announce the decision for transfer international. They told me from May- July. Since I’m not a resident, i forgot to ask them about transfer for local. Sorry.

thanks alexia. i am hoping that even though they say june-july that they will announce it earlier… i am hoping they give that date so people don’t bug them for an answer. anyone agree with my theory? i really need to know earlier than july because i need to settle housing for next yr at my current university!

yes, i am hoping that they’d announce it earlier. My cousin got admitted in early Feb even though they said they were going to announce for Freshman only in March-April.
