Fall12, any progress in application?

Ohh I just mentioned that cause you said you had never heard of schools getting transcripts on their own… Lol

Oh and on the UC transfer board someone mentioned Cal Poly released decisions today…hopefully Pomona will release shortly

@BeachHouse are you a transfer or freshman?

oh haha I didn’t say CPP requested my transcripts, i said CPP GOT my transcripts by themselves…

but yea as for csulb they never took my transcripts themselves, i have to manually mail it to them

pomona sends their decisions early march i think but i heard if you apply for nonimpacted you should hear earlier… ugh suspense is killing me

im a freshman

@BeachHouse that explains why you got the supplemental application earlier, im guessing transfers get it later

ON A GOOD NOTE, I GOT ACCEPTED TO CAL POLY SLO
Pomona is lagging!

CONGRATS LINGUIN101!!!
at least you dont have to worry about what CPP says

Thanks :)

I do worry! CPP would be the most economic choice and theres no real difference between SLO in terms of engineering. I know a friend who graduate from CPP and is well financially off with job offers even before he graduated.

Also, I came across this site once with statistics of al CSUs and their applicants - CPP had more applications than CPSLO! Maybe thats why CPP is taking longer to deliver notices of admission

I think CPP only has 8 people reviewing all the applications =.

It’s completely up to you on where you want to go back have you ever consider SLO mainly because of the better name?

Anyone with a 2.5 GPA or higher is guaranteed to CPP as long as their major is nonimpacted and they live in the service area, which i don’t, so I’m praying :(

I remember an admissions counselor visited Santa Monica College (where Im going as of now) and gave me all the wrong info about the classes needed…hope she’s not one of those reviewing the apps lol

It does have more prestige, I agree. I just think that no matter where you go to school, it all comes down to you and how you use your education to better yourself in the future.

Ill keep you posted if I get anything from Pomona!

True enough, but if you’re every stuck between the two choices at least you have something to break the tie lol

Thanks and if you’re accepted to SLO I’m 99% sure you’re gonna get to CPP as well.

Does anyone know how it works with them? 'Cause I technically go to school in LA county, but I live in Kern County. I think someone said I was in the service area of UCLA and CSUN for going to school in LA county. I’m still waiting on my decision. I applied as a non-impacted major.

For impacted majors, they disregard whether you are from the service area or not.

For non-impacted majors, im not sure

I’m still waiting on Cal Poly Pomona, unfortunately. But I got into Cal Poly SLO two days ago, which makes me very happy! People said that if I got into SLO I will most likely get into Pomona too. I hope that’s true!

Are you a transfer student, pandarose? If so, what are your stats?

I know some freshmen are getting their decisions from SLO recently, so it leads me to think you may not be a transfer student. Bleh. Pomona still has me at “Application Received”. Does anyone know how their decisions work? My friend applied like a day before me and is under “Ready for Review” as a MechE. :/

@CalDud yeah my Pomona application still says “under review”

@pandarose have you accepted SLO’s admission? I dont think I am for now since I fear in doing so would make Pomona reject me lol

@CalDud
I’m a first time freshman. My stats are as follows: GPA: 3.8, SAT 1180/1600, ACT 24, Lots of extracurriculars pertaining to my major. Major: Liberal Studies

@LINGUIN101
I haven’t accepted SLO’s offer as of right now since I’m still waiting on Pomona and UC’s.

I also got my acceptance into SLO the other day. My major at Pomona is impacted though and I’m still at “ready for review”. An email I got awhile ago said application decisions will be sent out in March. I don’t know if that was just for the College of Ag or if it’s for other departments as well. Here’s hoping it’s the beginning of March!

Yeah, I also got accepted to Cal Poly SLO about a week ago.

I really hope it’s true that people who get accepted to SLO will get accepted to CPP.

Still, even if I’m admitted, I still have to decide whether to choose SLO or CPP :(

I am now “referred to impacted plan” …some progress! Lol

I know they reviewed my app today because I got an email from an admissions Analyst asking me a question, so hopefully I hear back soon!
