Hello, My uncle has just graduated from Columbia University with a full ride scholarship (he didn’t even pay a penny for tuition). Now he is in Columbia law school. I have had a great interest in applying to Columbia University for awhile as well. Will my family history/relation with my uncle help my admission or considered legacy? I would just like to know. Thanks!
He must have gotten full need based aid, as Columbia does not give merit scholarships.
Per the Columbia admissions website, only the children of Columbia grads are considered legacies. So you would not get an admissions boost.
Thanks for your reply! Oh and yes they currently do not. Although they did when he was accepted into Columbia University 4 years ago. Not they do not have full tuition scholarships. So I wanted to know if I would get a boost… Because not a lot of people got the full ride and he currently maintains the full tuition scholarship at Columbia law school right now. So… I’m not sure.
Pretty sure they didn’t have merit scholarships 4 years ago either.
Columbia has never had merit scholarships. Your story is lacking in the truth.
