Hey guys, I'm wondering whether the fact that my sister attended Wesleyan would have any effect on my chances of getting into the school. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will help you a bit...they do consider legacy status.

what about a great-uncle? lol.. a tiny bit?

Here's a follow up question... does anybody know how much Wesleyan University itself takes legacy into account?

I'm very nervous in anticipation... I really love Wesleyan. I think it would be the perfect school for me.

Wesleyan acknowledges that they give some added weight to "legacies". A sister or a brother alum can sometimes function that way. But, overall, legacies only account for a tiny number in each class, somehwere in the single digits percentage-wise. My hunch is that all of them could probably have gained admission on their own or were at least on the borderline in terms of qualifications.

Thanks, johnwesley.
