Besides Frats, I was wondering if there were any clubs on campus who have a very tight knit group of people who are very close like a family.

In HS, I was in a group who were very close, and they were literally my 2nd family.

I really wanted to find a club like this.

Join a fraternity? They call each other “brothers” for a reason…

You could also apply to live in the co-ops, I know lots of people form tight bonds from staying in those. Clubs on campus are diverse and very welcoming - join them! Try out for a dance team, or an a cappella group, or a photography club. Seriously, there’s no shortage of “families” on this campus, you just have to put yourself out there to become a part of them.

I suggest Cal Band. Time-consuming, but you will definitely experience the tightness.
If you like the feeling of strong teamwork which feels like a family, then I also suggest intramural sports.
I do not suggest business clubs or religious clubs.

Otherwise, you really have to manually search for it until you find it. A number of clubs certainly feel superficial ran by superficial people, and that never feels good for some folks. However, everybody feels the needs to be understood and feel like they’re part of the family. What most people do is form study groups and one of the random group of people you meet eventually become best buddies for everything.

I found my best buddies by agreeing in our freshman year to eat together every Sunday night and we rarely missed out in our 4 years together. And Cal Band.

It is also true that there are a number of students who never find their buddies and still talk with their hometown/high school friends.
