Seeing that I was totally booked out of hotels for drop off and parents weekend, I am hoping to secure dinner reservations for Friday night of parents weekend. As past students, where was the one place you loved to go and eat when your parents came to town - especially those that require reservations. Playing it by ear in our family only really works for burgers, chinese and pizza.

Waybury Inn (about a 15-20 minute drive from campus) is wonderful. Swift House Inn also is nice. For a more casual dinner, Fire & Ice is good.

Second the Waybury. Mary’s Restaurant (The Inn at Baldwin Creek, Bristol) is also superb.

Fine dining in Vermont is pretty laid back, while still having great food and a focus on fresh, local food. For reservations-recommended kinds of restaurants, I’d go with the Swift House (not a fan of Fire & Ice) if you want to stay in town. Nearby, I’d say the best options are the Black Sheep Bistro in Vergennes, Starry Night Cafe in Ferrisburgh and Mary’s at Baldwin Creek in Bristol. If you want a little more casual, the Bobcat Cafe in Bristol, Park Squeeze in Vergennes and Cafe Provence in Brandon are all great options too.
