Famous '09ers?

Just wondering if there are any notable '09ers out there (excluding our luminous selves of course, unless some of you actually are celebrities).

Are there any famous current students at Brown?

I think I saw Leelee Sobieski at ADOCH, although I'm not sure

Whoa! That's awesome!

I wouldn't have recognized her, but a bunch of people were like yelling her name.

leelee sobieski does indeed go to brown.

so does allegra versace (neice of deceased fashion designer gianni versace).

Alan Keyes' daughter will be 09

i.e. no one interesting

Ha, yeah. That's ok; normal people are much more fun anyway.

Ew, Alan Keyes is crazy.

I think I may have read somewhere that Mike Bloomberg's daughter (as in daughter of the Mayor of NYC) either goes or may be going to Brown.

Oh, the guys who started that juice company, Nantucket Nectars, went to Brown.

I saw an admitted student at Brown who I recognized from TV but I wasn't sure of it and I also didn't known his name. He was really nice... I talked to him for a bit but didn't want to ask the question.

Of the more visible people (media-wise) Lady Gabriella Windsor was in my class '04, Leelee is '05.5 I think.

There are an incredible number of children of famous people (Dustin Hoffman, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Danny Devito, Chris Mathews, Gary Trudeau, Peter Boyle...)

The kids of Ringo Starr, Stephen Spielberg, Christopher Reeves, John Kerry, were all students during my time (within the last 5 years)

I'm not sure why, but the celebrity stereotype of Brown holds a bit of truth--but I think no more so than any other Ivy (at least Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and Columbia seem to have their fair share)

i wonder if they had to work as hard and have the same level stats that the rest of us non-famous and not incredibly wealthy had to have to get in. kinda sick, don't you think?

really? money=advantages? news to me.

Ewww... Alan Keyes. Hmmm... why would he let his daughter go to Brown? You'd think he'd make her go somewhere conservative.

The thing with money is that if you are very poor you get an admissions boost (but you might not be able to pay for your education). If you are middle class or wealthy, you don't get a boost. In fact, if you are wealthy, more is expected of you. However, if you are EXTREMELY wealthy, you def. do get a boost, but this only works for a very small number of people.

he actually refused to pay her tuition...it was a big deal a while back
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A20005-2005Feb12.html

So do any of these kids with notable parents ever bring them to Brown?

Alan Keyes has actually kicked his daughter out of his house and doesn't talk to her because she is a lesbian. Great dad, huh.

yep, definitely a daddy dearest.
