i know that there is also kal penn..but any other celebrities working at penn or going there?

Not really. Penn isn't big on the "celebrity" radar. They usually go to Harvard, Yale, Princeton (Harry Potter), Stanford (Kal Penn--again, and Michelle Wie, Kal Penn). Sometimes they'll go to Columbia, in no small part because it's in NYC.

Although the governor of Pennsylvania and former DNC chair (and Penn alum) Ed Rendell teaches a class at Penn. How many other Ivies can say their governor teaches a class there? ;)

not everyone at penn will boast about their family history.
look hard enough, and you'll find some ridiculous sons/daughters of founders/ceos/politicians etc...
I'm sure they don't appreciate people becoming friends with them because of this.

A lot of people whose parents are really influential in business come here. And some Congressmen's children. But they're not "celebrities" so you probably wouldn't know their names.

David Eisenhower, grandson of Dwight Eisenhower and son-in-law of Richard Nixon--and the David after whom presidential retreat Camp David was named--is on the Annenberg School faculty. The Utah governor's daugther is there (Huntsman--a big-time Penn family). Newsweek columnist and MSNBC analyst Howard Fineman's daughter is there (he wrote a Newsweek column about it). There are no doubt others.

Other celeb kids have attended Penn in the past--Candice Bergen, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall's son, Joan Rivers' daughter Melissa, the son of the mayor of New Orleans (who himself went on to become mayor of New Orleans), kids of other politicians and officials, etc.

There may not be any current A-listers or their kids there now, but Penn's had its share in the past, and no doubt will in the future--the school's become much more high-profile, selective, and desirable in the last 10-15 years, and that upward trend looks likely to continue.

And as adf8 points out, Penn has long been--and continues to be--a destination for lots of business tycoons' kids.

I know of someone's daughter who will be a freshman at CAS this upcoming fall, (met at Penn previews) that is pretty famous!

I hate to out anyone, but all I can say is "Everybody Loves Penn", wink, wink

^ Coincidentally, one of the writers of that show is a Penn alum, and he participated in an Alumni Day panel this past weekend about Penn alums who've gone into entertainment and sports.

MSNBC's Chris Matthews' daughter will be a sophomore this fall

celeb status at NYU tops all the schools mentioned by ilovebagels.

45 percenter no one cares about its past, they want to know about the present. when you talk about humphrey bogart and lauren bacall's child that doesn't do me any good in my current search for celebrity-related poon

^^^ I think thats what we are all looking for.

freetense, NOTHING will do you any good in that department. :p

If you're a celebrity at NYU it's because you were so stupid that you couldn't even get into Columbia with your celebrity "hook."

cf. Olsen, Mary Kate & Ashley

You can't say that unless you know for sure the same peple who are enrolled at NYU applied to Columbia & were rejected. And I highly doubt Columbia will reject people like the Olsen twins because it will certainly boost their image & popularity.

"If you're a celebrity at NYU it's because you were so stupid that you couldn't even get into Columbia with your celebrity "hook."

Assuming this statement isn't a joke, I really don't think that those who went to NYU only went because they couldn't get into Columbia. For one thing, NYU is highly renowned in the theatre/drama department so it comes as no suprise that more celebs will enroll at NYU over Columbia, Harvard, or Yale.

-H.O.L

I read that the Olsen twins were in some "independent study" program at NYU. They have no core and make up their own courses of study. They would never survive in a regular program which core classes are required because I doubt academics were their priorities. They never went to regular schools, just tutored.

MK dropped out after one semester.....haven't heard about Ashley.

My S was in several classes with Ivanka Trump.

Wasn't it just a joke that Daniel Radcliffe would be going to Princeton?

Kal Penn actually went to UCLA.

^^^ Yeah, but Kal was a guest professor at Penn this year. He taught "Images of Asian Americans in the Media."

Yep. No Danny/Harry at Princeton.
