Thank you so much! :)

FAMU- I live in FL and I’ve honestly never heard of anyone applying there. I would check it out first.
FAU- safety
UCF- match
USF- match

Just get your test scores up I would say. And if you do get the 25 you’re aiming for, I would apply to FSU also!

thank you so much!
i know i have weak extra curriculars so i’m worried about getting into college. it’s comforting knowing i match at least some of them.
and FAMU is an HBCU. that’s prob. why you never heard of it, but i think i’ll get in. i surpass the average test score they have according to collegeboard:
Test Scores
Middle 50% of
First-Year Students Percent Who
Submitted Scores
SAT Critical Reading: 410 - 500 63%
SAT Math: 410 - 500 63%
SAT Writing: 400 - 490 63%
ACT Composite: 17 - 21 74%

and thanks about fsu. i thought fsu was way outta my league, but now i’ll work harder to get my ACT test scores up so i can get into there. it would make me so proud if i got in. :)

and if there’s anymore chancers out there. i am a first generation college student and a minority.

I think you got your GPA’s mixed up, haha. The weighted GPA will be higher because it adds weight from AP or honors classes.

No, you do not have “weak” extracurriculars - you’re quite active outside of school.

Since I’m not too familiar with those schools, I won’t be able to chance you. Sorry. :(

FAMU-Yes
FAU- Yes
UCF- maybe more likely yes
USF- yes
Tip: APPLY EARLY!!!

My brother got into FSU with a weighted 3.8 and a 25 ACT, I’m sure you will have no problems so long as you get that ACT up! Also, he barely had any EC’s outside of sports. Being a minority and first generation will definitely help.

great. :)

this may sound like a stupid question but how do colleges know i’m a first generation college student. is it on the application?

^You will be asked about the highest degree your parents earned, where you can indicate that they did not receive a college degree. Are you considering any out-of-state HBCUs? Some I think you should consider are:

[ul]Spelman
[]Xavier University
[]Morgan State University
[]Winston-Salem State University
[]Fayettville State University
[]Vorhees College
[]Hampton University
[]Knoxville College
[]And that’s it for now.
[/ul]

By the way, are you aiming to go to an HBCU? Would you like me to broaden my search to include non-HBCU schools with admitted students that have your stats?

Best of luck. :)

*I will return to provide average SAT and ACT scores, along with the average GPAs of admitted students.
