Does anyone have an updated list of the endowment campaign totals?

2.3 Billion has been raised as of Dec 31 2012.

Modern Man,

Where did you find that figure? I checked the site and was unable to discover the total.

The $2.3 billion number is in the graph on the middle of the page. You may need to scroll down a bit.

Thanks for all you do for this forum Georgia Girl.

Thank you! I was able to find the graph. The sum is $2.25 billion.

There have been many huge donations, but it is interesting 177,201 donors have participated so far in the campaign. Gving by designation has been 47% for academic priorities, 14% for capital expenditures and 39% for endowment.

This week the Massry Foundation has given funds to support Keck fifth year research scholars program. Selected scholars will receive $25,000 each to continue research projects.

Some of the buildings mentioned above are now completed. The John McKay complex, the health center and the University Club for faculty. Not mentioned here, but to be completed in 2013 is the Merle Norman facility for women’s sand volleyball.

I also want to point out that USC is very close to three major acquisitions/mergers/partnerships with the LA Museum of Contemporary Arts, Verdugo Hills Hospital in La Canada, and of course the LA Coliseum. All three will take some time but will be huge milestones for the university. I project that everything will be legally finalized this year.

“158,454 donors have made gifts less than $1,000.” Interesting!

Sumner Redstone has made a major gift of $10 milliion to the USC School of Cinematic Arts in January 2013. Previously, he had donated to the USC Keck School of Medicine.

The estate of the late Billy Wilder has donated $11 million to the USC Keck School of Medicine.

A gift from various donors of $4 million dollars was given to construct an atrium to exhibit USC championship athletic trophies in the new Heritage Hall. The exhibit atrium will be named for Patrick Haden.

I’m thinking they should name the emergency exits in Heritage Hall after Pete Carroll.

Sorry, I had to… ;)

Alumnus, Bryan Singer, has donated $5 million to the SCA Division of Critical Studies. He is known for his direction of X-men and Superman Returns.

The late Jean-Pierre Touzeau donated $1.5 million to USC Norris for lung cancer research.

The Avon Foundation gave $250,000 to support genetic counseling for patients with breast cancer.

Just wanted to note that in 2011 Yale completed the Largest Campaign in History, raising $3.88 billion in SEVEN (7) YEARS. While USC has now raised $2.5 billion so far. Nikias stated in the State of the University Address that he projects that we will reach the $3 billion mark before the end of the third year.

That is quite remarkable when you put it into perspective.

Also, a little bird has told me that USC is close to finalizing a $163+ million dollar donation for the 170,000 sq ft Convergence of Molecular Science and Engineering Research Building.

Stayed tuned Trojans.
