Hi! I live with my mom, and when she filed her taxes she was married to my stepfather. Now, they aren’t legally divorced but he no longer lives with us or is involved with my life. Am I required to report him on my fasfa? Him being reported doubles my EFC so in curious. Thanks!
Based on what you have presented, no you do not report your stepfather’s information on the fafsa
If they filed a joint tax return in 2019, you will have to separate out your mother’s income (use the W2s, 1099s etc that were hers).
More math, worth it in the end.
