I’m leaving. Filed for divorce. Fasfa app is due before I can move . Can I list the new homes address as my address since I’ve put down deposit. I won’t be there for 6 weeks. My kid will get more money by not having his step dad’s info. What are my options?
I don’t think the home address is really determinative of much of anything, except for state of residence, and that won’t impact federal aid (if you are even moving to a new state). If you are separating from your husband/filed for divorce, his financials will not be used on FAFSA, no matter where you are living.
You’ve filed for divorce from the man who isn’t your kids’ dad. That’s enough. Put separated/divorced.

Does the child plan to attend college in year 2017/18? That FAFSA has just opened on Oct 1.

It doesn’t matter when she’s moving WHEN the husband is not the dad of the kids. She’s fine now.
