Fashion and Trends @ UF

When I visited I noticed a lot of people dressed "preppy" and that Lilly Pulitzer was popular. I'm not from Gville so idk what the trends are there. I'm going shopping soon, are there any "must-haves" for girls or things you guys recommend buying? (due to the weather, fashion ect).

Anything orange and blue!

1 must have fashion item in Hogtown: jorts!

Trolls are SOoO clever

Nothing wrong with Lilly Pulitzer, but still bring some jeans. If you will be in a dorm, remember the rooms are tiny with little closet or dresser space; you can’t bring everything from home. Bring your basics and when you get to Gainesville you can pick up some new outfits too.

Visited last week and saw tons of girls wearing short, colorful athletic shorts that had contrasting piping around the bottoms of each leg…don’t know what they are called, but they were really the “trend” that I saw

wft is a lilly pulitzer

thanks guys :)

p.s- this isn’t google.

Rain boots! You won’t need them often, but especially in the winter, they are nice to have handy. There are few things worse than having to walk to all your classes around campus all day with soaking wet shoes and feet after stepping in a puddle on a rainy day when it is 20 or 30 degrees outside. Rubber rain boots are inexpensive, and you can get them in cute colors and patterns at stores like Target.

shorts, lily pulitzer, colorful nike’s, and the most important… SPERRY’S! <3

Colorful nikes, really? Sounds kind of ghetto O.o that’s what all the gangster-wannabes wear over here. Btw is this “look” related to how the Greeks dress or is this just the norm over there? Because I do know the greeks like dressing preppy, and sorority girls love pearls and lilly ect…so idk if this is how the majority dress or just mostly the Greeks.

Ghetto? Like, seriously? Wow.

Prime example ^^ Don’t call people ghetto, it’s kind of rude.

Heck, when us old guys went off to school the hip thing was worn out weegins - - we
wrapped duck tape around the shoes to keep it all together. For the youngins weegins
are penny loafers with sort of a maroon color to them. FWIW late '60s. What do I
smell in the air? Ok, now I’ll exhale!

duct-- geeesh – sniff, sniff!

LMAO, I KNOW you didn’t just (try to)“correct” me or tell me what to do, because THAT would be rude.
FYI “that looks Ghetto” is a very common phrase. It isn’t racist or “rude”, unless you’re overly sensitive or have a need to be “Politically Correct” over the internet :)

Like I said before (when I referenced “Ghetto”), Nikes are what alot of the “Gangsters”, “Thugs”, Rapper-Wannabes, and hip hop lovers wear over here. That’s all.

Wal-Mart fashion is more “sexy” than “preppy.” Gainesville has THREE Wal-Mart Super Centers. No one will confuse a checkout line at the Archer Rd. Wal-Mart with a Paris runway fashion show!
