Fashion Design?

Hello, I am a student who is interested in fashion design. I love fashion and I would love to end up designing clothes for a big fashion house. However, I currently have little experience with technical skills such as sewing. I can draw pretty well though. Would this set me back if I were to become a fashion design major?

Also, what are the chances of getting hired as a fashion designer? I think there are more business/corporate type of jobs available in these fashion houses.

If you’re a fashion design major or have worked as/or currently working as a designer, what is it like?
