Fashion in Purdue

Hi. Ok so I am going to major in fashion design and I was wondering how the program is in Purdue. Yes it's in the middle of nowhere in a designer-who-thinks-you-can-only-make-it-big-in-new-York's perspective but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have an amazing program. I know that I can go to FIT for my junior year and study abroad in Italy but I want to know more.

I don’t know about the fashion program at Purdue, however, I have rarely heard about it or seen project displays by fashion design majors. Have you tried looking into Parsons, Pratt, etc? The fashion trend at Purdue is pretty much dull, there isn’t a lot of variety. A lot of the men have short, conservative haircuts, not a lot of style. Women here, dress “conservative” as well, but don’t expect to see discussions about Gucci, Dior, etc around campus, unless you hang out around with international students. Most of the international students are from mainland China, India and Korea.

Thanks for the info, uconfidential. It really helps.
