fashion merchandising

I would like to study fashion merchandising. I looked at FIT and Univ. of Delaware. I know FIT is the place for fashion merchandising but I did love the feel of a more traditional campus like Univ. of Delaware. I am a strong student with an IB diploma. Any other schools that I should consider? I did not really care for Marist or Univ. of Philadelphia. If any current fashion merchandising students can tell me about their schools I would really appreciate it!

You dont need to study fashion merchandising to be a merchandiser. I would actually advice against going to a fashion school, and actually get your education in something you can fall back on.
fashion careers don't pay enough for the amount of time you have to commit to them.

Syracuse I believe has a program with fashion merchandising, or something fashion.

URI, VA Tech and Drexel also have Fashion Merchandising.

Summer <3, I have an interest in fashion (more design) but I dont want to go to an art school specifically for that.
I visited U.Del which has a great program for merchandizing/apperal along with connections with FIT and companies.
Syracus as someone mentioned has a GREAT fashion program
also Drexel and Bowling Green Uni. in ohio suprisingly does

oh and URI also.. i looked ther
im not 100% but i think Maryland does too

Chicago State, Buffalo State, and Florida State University are all "traditional" schools that offer Fashion Merchandising. But you should really consider going to a college that specializes in fashion because you will get more experience and gain far more knowlege. Schools such as fit, lim, and fidm will give you hands on experience and will help set you up with jobs when you graduate. They are also usually much smaller than universities so it will be more individualized as well. While you may not want to sacrifice the college experience ask yourself what's more inportant a couple years of frat parties or securing a place in the fashion industry?

FIT and Syracuse have a lot of well known fashion employers recruiting. You should definitely check with the career offices of each school. Some schools have joint programs with FIT (SUNY Oneonta has a 3 +1 program but I think there might be others) if you want a more traditional college experience.
