Well, I wasn't planning on setting aside money for student loans. Some of you guys are really spoiled. Some of you are too high or want things handed to you. I unfortunately don't get things handed to me - especially in this case money. and yes, I DO VOLUNTEER WORK - OFTEN. BUT VOLUNTEER WORK DOESN'T PAY, AND I WILL STILL CONTINUE VOLUNTEERING. I dont see anything wrong with fast food restaurant employment. Obviously you most likely are there anyways ordering something.

And about appreciating money: I don't see any reason why making $7.50 an hour is not appreciating money! That is higher than minimum wage! Some people don't even make that to support their families. Do you know how many people are on poverty down here in the Southwestern region of the U.S. and in several other urban locations in the U.S.? I don't know what community you are speaking of, but in my inner-city community, $7.50 is a "little more than decent wage."
The messages that I am receiving is that working in fast food is very degrading. I don't think so - but maybe it is! But at least I will learn what hard work means - and not everything being handed to you all the time!

Oh, I didn't mean to come off as egotistical. I don't look down on people who work in fast food. I was just stating that I worked in the biz long enough(sixteen hours...) to realize how terrible it was. You are going to realize how little people value you when you work there. No one will come up to you and say, "Gee, thank you for that amazing burger. You seemed to dip it in just the right amount of grease for my heart. Thank you for cutting 3 months off my life with that awesome meal!" There are many other outlets to work for little money where you get a better sense of appreciation. Stock work, Bagging groceries or any place where you can assist customers. At least then from time to time, people will thank you for the effort you put in for them.

I'm not knocking minimum wage jobs, I held a job doing stock work for a liquor store that paid $7 an hour($10.50 on Weekends woot woot...) for ten months, but the sense of appreciation was far greater there on the very first day than in fast food. Heck, I messed up A LOT on my first day in that store but no customers were on my back and my manager was very nice. Perhaps it's just me, I have thick skin, but I don't let people walk over me, so I can't take constant complaints.

People who work at fast food restaurants don't go or deserve to be in college.... They shouldn't even be in here
