[Fast Question] Number 2 pencil is same as...

Mechanical pencil leads have same function as number 2 pencil?
It means I can use rather Mechanical pencil leads than number 2 pencils?

please reply as soon as possible~~~~~

They made me use a No2 one last time i took the sat. Im not sure why, cuz they do have the same effect

I think its because mechanical pencils make you writing thinner than usual (could make it difficult for CB to make scans of your essay)

they think that you're going to poke through the score sheet with a mechanical pencil. that's what my proctor said about it. i'm not sure how you could do that, assuming that you keep your score sheet flat on your desk...

maybe they just wanted to make sure that nobody could complain to them if their answers couldn't be properly scanned

I used .5 lead and it didn't look significantly thinner at all, but then again I don't think I've used a wooden pencil in years. About half of my room ignored the no mechanical pencil rule.

mechanical = NO.2 unless your lead sucks (too light)
