Anyone know the fastest way to Vassar from Chicago flying United Airlines? Everything I've seen looks like a two hour drive from the airports to Vassar...

Not really.

closer airports with commercial flights are:
Stewart International Airport (IATA: SWF, ICAO: KSWF) (3/4hr. away)
Westchester County Airport (HPN) (1 hour away)

Not sure of you’ll find flights to these though. But I seem to recall that when we flew from the midwest to Vassar we got a flight into Stewart. Probably connected in Detroit. Looks like you should have some options that run out of Chicago though.

Nearest regional

Albany, NY

Bradley (CT)

Nearest local

Duchess County

Stewart Int’l in New Windsor, NY (probably best combo of scheduled flights plus proximity)

I thought Stewart Airport is in Newburgh?

Regardless, I believe Westchester (in White Plains – HPN) is a bigger airport and is serviced by United. It is an easy airport to fly into, and rental cars are usually dirt cheap!! There are nonstop flights from O’Hare on United and American. Then you just zip up 684 to 84 to Poughkeepsie. Easy drive. Maybe about an hour at most.
