Fat envelope?

When u get accepted can u immediately tell by the size of the envelope? is it fat? wat does the letter say?

You'll find out more quickly whether you got in if you check online.

To answer your question - acceptances come in a large 8 x 10 envelope. Rejections and deferrals in business size envelopes.

Does anyone know exactly when EA decisions come out? Is it December 15th? If you check online can you know earlier?

it is not unusual for online decisions to be released the evening before the 'official' date

nycdad is correct - last year the EA decisions were available on line on December 14th.

A little early to be worrying about envelope size, no? Focus on getting those applications done. And some colleges can send deceptive mid-sized envelopes. Just to mess with you. So does it really matter whether you know when you reach in your mailbox or 10 secs later when you tear it open?

thanks for your replies!

man, online acceptances just KILLS the experience if you can get only mail. I mean, my personal fantasy is to get into HYPS and only know the decision by mail, which i will then throw the letter in the air, and then rn around the block like crazy... guess temptation from the computer precludes this fantasy.

Is it weird that the phrase "fat envelope" makes me drool a little bit?

lol fat envelope and drool? hmm i think its wierd

But the idea is so tantalizing!

I know one college (I forget which one; I think it was a LAC) sends acceptances and rejections in the small envelope.

That's just cruel.

I love what Princeton did several years ago with their small-enveloped acceptance letter saying merely "YES!" in huge letters.

What a rush that probably gave those who were accepted.

Alright, I can see how that might work. I'm kind of hoping to find out online though. I don't want to faint in the middle of the street if/when I get my letter. :)

haha does yale say "YES" or does it have that boring trite letter

I dunno about this year, but I got a poster as the top thing in my envelope.

poster? wats that?

Ah my heart starts beating faster when I think about acceptance/rejection letters.....ahhh how many days left?
