Has anyone received an acceptance letter that applied RD? I spoke with admissions and they said to be patient as they will not send anything until April.

While I doubt Whitman would send any RD acceptances in February, some schools adhere strictly to the 4/1 notification deadline, while other schools start sending out acceptances earlier than that.

If I were you, I would expect the letter to come on April 1, and if it comes before that then it will be a pleasant surprise. :)

Does Whitman post admissions decisions online?

im going crazy waiting for my letter!
why cant they just decide already haha
april is so far....

it drive me crazy too...it's more than a month..and i cant help thinking that they maybe already decided by now..

oh i know!
where else did you apply??

Fat letters??? Is the acceptance letter filled with fats ? ^!^
O my god! so many females applying to Whitman.

Add 1 to the male count
^_^

annak, I applied Bowdoin and Colgate as well...but it seems really tough to get in these two as an international student..:/

What drives me crazy is the arrogance of the Early Decision schools that make you wait so long if you don’t play their game by applying Regular Decision. The Early Action schools have given their acceptance and financial packages a month ago. It is making the decision on which school to attend easier and easier each day my mail box is empty.

^^Yup, especially if you get deferred for ED and then are forced to wait for RD. Bah.

Annak, we must be applying to very similar schools! And I think we have some schools in common, too, jmarin.

Deferal is like getting infected from HIV. You get infected and gradually you die!

And about FAt letters, are there any significant marks on the envelope that assures us that we are accepted. Or it might be Fat envelope with big stone carved rejection letter because many admission committes post their decision on April 1 Fools day.

that would be the worst april fools joke EVER haha.

and yeah catsushi... i noticed that too :)
i applied to pomona, cmc, scripps, whitman, university of redlands, rhodes, trinity university, and eckerd

basically all over the country and way random lol
what about you?

I applied to the University of Washington, Linfield College, Lewis & Clark College, Pomona College, Scripps College, Wellesley College, Brown University (I know I'm not going to be accepted), Soka Univerity, and of course, Whitman. :) A lot. Maybe too many. Well we have Scripps, Pomona, and Whitman in common!

Lol, manasm, that'd be so cruel if they were like "Congragulations on being accepted....APRIL FOOLS, you were rejected."

They did send out a few RD acceptances in February. I believe this was the first year they sent them out this early. However, I spoke with the admissions staff and they said they flag "interest" applicants (geographically diverse, ethnically/racially diverse, high scores, high GPA, lots of ECs, etc), and send them their RD packages first. However, I still haven't received my financial aid package. So we'll see when that shows up.

Good luck to everyone! Your package will be classy and cream-colored and it says "Congratulations" on the bottom left corner!

Thanks for your info KBaher
...will they send international student's decision early?...i doubt it :/

hahah catsushi
i just got my acceptance to Soka.
it comes in a small envelope so dont be scared.
50-50 chance.

I just got accepted to Whitman!

this makes finals week 100000x better

congrats skyhawk!
did you apply regular decision??

Yeah I applied RD
