<p>You’ll want to fill out a FAFSA and, depending on what information you put in there, they’ll come back with an offer for you. It could be a loan, it could be a grant, it depends on a lot of things. Generally speaking if you are listed as a dependent of your parents and they make a decent salary, your award will be low since their contribution will be expected to be higher than, say, a person from a very poor family (or a single mother, etc). </p>
<p>You can also check out scholarships because there are tons of them and a lot of them are not sought-out and utilized, especially when it comes down to niche categories like “black female engineers.”</p>
