Faux Wood tile...anyone have it?

Porcelain tile would be great in a house with dogs. I think it looks really pretty.

We ended up going with Porcelain tile. We couldn’t find a faux wood that matched well enough to the existing foyer tile, or the right color in general. We love, love our new tile and it was a fraction of the cost of faux wood til. I will take a pic of our new dining room (old formal living room, when it’s put together. The old dining room is now the wine room.

Porcelain tile also comes in a faux wood variety. But it sounds like you got a completely different look?

We had a designer come over, and he suggested either LVP for the kitchen, or ceramic tile. He says if we went with the ceramic tile, we should really make sure it’s heated. There’s a significant difference in cost. I’m thinking we’ll go with the LVP for cost and ease of installation (my husband can do it). I also can’t seem to find ceramic tile that looks as close to real wood as the LVP does. Though hardwood looks great, we’re a bunch of coffee and wine spilling people, spraying water on the floor, so no way.

Im wondering if there’s a place people recommend for really good LVP. Apparently you really want the thicker plank.

We put CoreTec lvp in our kitchen a few weeks ago and LOVE IT. It was installed by a local flooring business hired by our contractor, although you’re right, easily installed by a homeowner. I believe the flooring folks would have sold us the product as “cash and carry”. If you know a reputable local business maybe you could check there?

Thank you for that information, @JustaMom5465. That flooring is fantastic, gorgeous. Expensive, but we’re happy to pay that for such a result. I see there are a number of local retailers that sell it, so we’ll go down and look in person.

I don’t have a specific place to recommend, but try flooring showrooms that cater to commercial projects, and professional designers (architects, interior designers, etc.). They tend to have the better products. These are usually found in larger cities though, so it depends on your location.

I’ll look for that @kjofkw, thank you.

Check Floor and Decor stores. You can buy a sample plank or a few, check how they look in your kitchen, and then return what you don’t want.

Good idea. We have gotten much of our flooring for our condo rentals there, though I’m unsure if they have the top quality LVP. They also let you return single pieces. Definitely worth a look, thanks.
