Fav. books 4 English

What are the best books you guys have read for english? I have hated every single one except A Farewell To Arms & The Bean Trees.

Farewell to Arms
The Great Gatsby

The Crucible, Animal Farm, Of Mice And Men and Night were all amazing. :) But then I had an awesome teacher 10th and 11th grade year...it really does make a difference.

Out of the books we've read so far this year (Scarlet Letter, Huckleberry Finn, Grapes of Wrath, & Great Gatsby), I'd say Huckleberry Finn. It was the most interesting, in my opinion.

Including books from past classes, To Kill a Mockingbird fo' sho'. :)

I really enjoyed reading Brave New World. Deception Point is a pretty good read, also.

The Grapes of Wrath, 1984, Black Boy...I've liked most that I've read in the past 3 years. With the glaring exception of "Beowulf." That book was a *****.

Lord of the Flies
The Razor's Edge
My Name is Asher Lev

either the Outsiders or The Giver.

I'd have to say Of Mice and Men. But that's because we didn't read too many books...

Loved To Kill a Mockingbird. :3

Oh, man, I've read some really great books (and plays!) in English class. Of course, I'm something of an English nerd, so it makes sense that I've probably read 20-25 books for English in high school alone, and I can only think of 2 or 3 that I disliked. A few (okay, a bunch) of my favorites:

1984
A Farewell To Arms
Animal Farm
Catcher In The Rye
Hamlet
Into The Wild
Macbeth
The Great Gatsby
To Kill A Mockingbird

Mythology. so far that's the only one i liked. blah i hate fiction

hmmm... Shakespere is always fun, but my top four are probably One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest, The Great Gatsby, Dante's Inferno, and House of Spirits. Also love the short stories we read from The Things They Carried (read the whole thing independently).

Fahrenheit 451
Animal Farm
Frankenstein
