Favor request: please don't make or post Acceptance videos

@petrichor11 – I agree and I admit that I’m being judgmental, but I guess my point was that many people are going to be judgmental about this type of thing and it’s not terrible to advise students and parents to think carefully about publicly posting. The point I was trying to make was about things like the link in post 58 (assuming that it was not a staged-joke by someone intending to mock this type of video) – it starts out as a video for grandparents (totally understandable and not at all contrived or self-absorbed in this instance), but results in mom posting – for the entire world – her daughter vomiting after being accepted to Harvard. It’s been viewed almost 250,000 times and some of the comments are extremely harsh. I don’t think it would be unfair to say that the young woman may end up humiliated if any of her future classmates recognized her when she got to campus this fall.

I’m sure that video needed to be shared with 242,000 people. Just a humble, self-effacing family.

Mmm…yeah, okay, vomiting on screen is over the top, I think, for most people. I’ll concede that one!
