Favorite genre

It could be book, movie, etc. Just what is your favorite genre? And why?

For me, sci-fi wins all.

Books:

Fantasy!!! From tolkien to rowling to the newer stuff i love it

Sci-Fi: your generic cryptonomicon, snow crash, ender’s game…

Biography - feynman, nash, weiner, etc.

Mystery/thriller. I love, love, looovvveee a good mystery. Comedy is a close second, especially dark comedies like Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, In Bruges, etc.

World Almanac. :]

Book: Sports Biography or Athlete/Coach-author.
Movie: Comedy
Music: Ska/punk

Fantasy .

I mean…something that has drama is almost always the best, but that can be science-fiction drama, a fantasy drama, a comedy drama, and well…you get the idea.

Books: I really like historical fiction.
Movies: Dramas and comedies.

Music: Classical
Books: Realistic fiction

SFF - maybe I prefer science fiction over fantasy. Something that really melds the two, like Terry Brooks’ The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara series, is awesome. But video games where you have awesome technology are definitely better than ones where you get…crossbows. Magic doesn’t make up for the awesomeness of ray guns.

As for music, it’s honestly whatever sounds good to me. Some days, I can’t stand anything but rock; other days, I need to listen to jazz; still others, I go more indie. And there are other genres mixed in there too.

Movies: Rom-coms and Bollywood and musicals! I love happy movies
Books: anything goes really but I like historical classics, books with a hint of romance, most things. Actually anything that moves me.
Music: Bollywood (that’s actually a wide range of genres), Kannada movie songs, folk, Carnatic classical, pop and a bit of soft rock

Books: economics and business based
Music: any that pleases my ears
Movies: Mafia movies, Black & White films, and deeply emotional movies like The Blind Side, and Revolutionary Road

Books: anything as long as it’s not boring.
Movies: comedies!!!
Music: my tastes in music are split between party songs (including rap, rock, electro and pop-anything that has a good beat and that i can dance to) and sad, slow songs (secondhand serenade is a band that i’ve recently developed a taste for. I also like Frank Sinatra and a variety of indie bands)

Books: Physics, lol. I’d honestly rather read a well-written book on quantum theory than many books on fiction (minus certain Sci-Fi and dystopian/apocalyptic novels).

Movies: Romantic comedies lol, or action-adventure and sci-fi films. I wreck people in the movie game with my extensive knowledge of chick-flicks.

Music: I have a really wide taste in music. Pop punk and alternative rock mostly, as well as hip-hop and classic rock. A lot of other genres.

Books: Anything sci-fi/fantasy/adventure, classical, historical

Movies: Anything with Sandra Bullock. Except “All About Steve,” Sandra, that was horrible.
Action-Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Fantasy
And anything with Chris Tucker and/or Owen Wilson.

Music: I’m far from a music snob. I’ll listen to everything from alternative, to rock, to country, to rap, to pop, to jazz, to 60s and 70s music.
