i would go for “WIDE ARMS OPEN” By “Creed”

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I was at a show a few weeks ago, and a guy had a shirt on with an animated version of the band Creed, with the caption “Creed Sucks”. Was pretty funny.

Genres: Videogame Battles and Movie Climaxes
For a proper introduction to the genre, see “Summoned Beast Battle” by Junya Nakano.

Artists/Artistes/Composers/Bands/Companies: Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts, Mana), Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy, SSBB), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono, Xeno), Masashi Hamauzu, Junya Nakano, Koji Kondo (Super Mario, Zelda), John Williams (Half Blood Prince), Murray Gold (Dr Who), Martin O’Donell (Halo), Juno Reactor, Immediate Music, Opera Babes, Don Davis (Matrix), Globus

Lots of stuff; too varied to classify under 2-3 genres. But anyways, here are some genres that I enjoy a lot:

Progressive/jazzy rock: King Crimson, The Soft Machine, Van der Graaf Generator, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Anglagard, Porcupine Tree

Metal: it’s almost ridiculous how much these bands vary in sound but I will try my best to just name a few: Darkspace, The Crown, Blotted Science, Lost Horizon, Fen, Ulcerate, Municipal Waste, Pain of Salvation, Riverside, Ulver, Alcest, Isis, Evoken, The Axis of Perdition…ugh I am already starting to name way too many.

Electronic music: relatively new to this genre so I’m still mostly listening to entry-level stuff: Ulver (again; in fact, I discovered the genre through these guys), Coil, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin (who doesn’t love him?), Clark, The Future Sound of London, Amon Tobin

Everything else: except country and rap. Just kidding. But I dislike a few things including borderline pop indie bands (way too many insipid artists come from this particular vein), some really pretentious crap that gets hailed by Pitchfork as innovative, deathcore bands (an amalgamation of death metal and metalcore; this genre really fails on all comprehensible levels), and the usual mainstream tedium. But other than that, I’m down for nearly everything.

I pretty much sport an anti-hipster attitude despite listening to a few hipster bands - I really think the whole movement is unnecessarily elitist and spawns a lot of bad music.

Favorite: Coldplay

Others: Death Cab for Cutie, U2, ABBA, The Beatles, Queen, Begees, The Carpenters, Daft Punk, Guns N’ Roses, Radiohead, Safri Duo, Ying Yang Twins, Black Eyed Peas
