bump I like art.

There are so many to choose from! These are ones I can stare at for hours, even if they don’t always convey a sense of depth and artisty whatnot. They look cool, if nothing else.

http://www.goodart.org/blog/MariannePreindelsbergerStokes-MadonnaandChild-c1907-Large.jpg</a></p>

I especially like this one, but for other reasons: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/89/Thomas_Cooper_Gotch_-_The_Exile_1930.jpg</a></p>

Anything by sir lawrence alma-tadema. they’re so rich in detail and color and…everything

“the fountain” by Duchamp

Kandinsky is my favorite artist; I love all of his works.

I’m also a big Malevich fan: [File:Malevich.black-square.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](File:Malevich.black-square.jpg - Wikipedia)
Here’s a Magritte painting I especially like: [File:The Human Condition 1935.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](File:The Human Condition 1935.jpg - Wikipedia)
Egon Schiele (for fans of Klimt): [File:Egon Schiele 012.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](File:Egon Schiele 012.jpg - Wikipedia)
Millais was my favorite of the Pre-Raphaelites: [File:Millais - Ophelia.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](File:Millais - Ophelia.jpg - Wikipedia)
Oooh, Paul Klee: [url=File:Tale à la Hoffmann by Paul Klee 1921.jpg - Wikipedia]File:Tale

^ Props for the Klee, though I don’t really like anything from dada on, there’s just not much meaning to it.

[Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife - Hokusai](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/Dream_of_the_fishermans_wife_hokusai.jpg)

Yeah. That’s pretty much it.

That one’s good. I like just about everything Van Gogh made with yellow in it (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b4/Vincent_Willem_van_Gogh_128.jpg/300px-Vincent_Willem_van_Gogh_128.jpg</a>), especially given the history behind it.

Agree, anything including the word “starry” by Van Gogh (MoMA had a “Van gogh nightlife special exhibit” earlier this year, it was heavenly). They resonate so powerfully with me for some reason. I also love anything by Vermeer.

Also love Lee Krasner - in my eyes she pwns her husband. A particular favorite of mine is Gaea ([MoMA | The Collection | Lee Krasner. Gaea. 1966](http://www.moma.org/collection/object.php?object_id=79162)) Veniamviam, I love all the Judith paintings, too. When I first saw Caravaggio’s, I could not take my eyes off it.

Being a regular history geek as well, I love any paintings on the Tudors. But my favorite is probably this incredibly inaccurate but emotional painting of Lady Jane Grey’s execution: <a href=“Heilige, Namenstage, Patrone - Ökumenisches Heiligenlexikon”>Heilige, Namenstage, Patrone - Ökumenisches Heiligenlexikon; The actual painting is enormous and pretty moving.

GuiltyBystander, TYSM!! <333

Bumping a good threadddd.

i love Magritte’s work, they are strange but very unique, these are some of my favorites:

The Portrait: I think very creepy but it does attract my attention.
