Favorite Places to Eat at Berkeley

Bongo Burger is great! There are three locations around berkeley.

Picante has terrific Mexican food, arguably the best in town.

And I hope DRab is joking about Crossroads.

Just a little. :)

House of Curry was decent, but it didn't do it for me. My garlic naan was garlic because of garlic powder, not actual garlic!

Donde esta el Picante, mamenyu?

I like Crossroads.....

It's pretty good. Highly over criticized. You youngins should have had the food 5 years ago. Now that was bad "food."

Yeah, I've been obsessed with the Cal Dining menu after discovering it this past week.

Want to go there now? :) I'm hungry.

DRab signed off on me..... :(

Two best places to go for food:

Asian Ghetto

Gourmet Ghetto

You see? They're even named for you. The Asian Ghetto is where you go for good cheap food (primarily Asian, hence the name) and the Gourmet Ghetto is where you go when you want something good to eat. The Gourmet Ghetto is the collective name for the restaurants at the end of Shattuck (down past Victoria) -- includes Barney's, which is the best place to go for a burger if you don't mind paying $6-9 for one, and The Cheeseboard Collective, which includes Cheeseboard Pizza which is where you can get some mindblowingly awesome but admittedly strange gourmet varieties of the college kid's favorite staple.

Tuk Tuk Thai!

duck over brown rice... yum!

Picante is at 1328 6th St # 1, near Gilman (and REI).

I personally prefer Foothill over Crossroads, the latter is TOO DAMN CROWDED!

Are you serious? The food at Foothill is not good at all.

La Burrita is great if you're looking for a quick Mexican-food fix.

The difference to me is indiscernable. I mean, it's ALRIGHT...

Best Mexican Taqueria is Cancun Taqueria on Allston and Shattuck. Great stuff there with an amazing salsa bar.

Crossroads is fine for buffet-style, I guess, but it's like $9 for dinner. No, thanks.

It's all about timing. Quality wise, Clark Kerr is pretty good.

People who hate crossroads so much- don't go so as to allow more space for others. :)

blondies sucks, whoever said that one. zachary's is a good place for pizza in berkeley (plus there's one off of university that was really good but the name escapes me).

smart alec's is really good, but barney's is awesome.

cactus is also really good for mexican.

Check marked.

Blondies doesn't suck. It's not amazing, sure, but it's decent to good. It's a step or two up from fat slice, but a step or two down from Jupiters. Speaking of which, Jupiters is pretty good.
